The ribs and chicken were good but did not stand out like the tips. The salad was fresh. The chicken noodle soup was a little salty for my taste.Overall good food with great service.“

“This place is a solid dive like bar with a cool atmosphere & great bartenders. When we first got there it was packed with a lot of college aged kids watching the basketball games. Thought about leaving since we were looking for a more bar stool bum kinda place but after talking to the bartender Sean we decided to stay. Crazy coincidence was that his last name & my married last name were almost exactly the same. Only off by one letter which was hilarious (had to be there/ know the last names). We also chatted about closing Wolski's which is a must do for any Milwaukeean or visitor who loves a good ol dive bar. Sean was great with getting drinks to us fast as well as other bar recommendations that were our style. After being there for a bit it cleared out & the bar stool bumming began. I've never seen an ice tray with oyster shells, used lemons and plates stay the entire dinner melting away. I was never asked if I wanted another $14 drink which I'm sure the owner wants to sell. We also had to share our water. My wife said (she just watched you taking some of my water and never came over) A little food left and we finally were served a carafe of water. Waited a while for the check. Several tables around us empty. I stood up to find someone and she came over.“

“Definitely on the fence for 5 v. 4 stars. It a great space with lots of interesting decor, and the upper floor has a great vibe ...get up there if possible. Service was good; expected for a slow evening. Vibe is nice...not too much TV or music pervading, yet not lacking in some liveliness either...nice touch. Host was great and re-seated to better spot (chairs not stools) was easy. The standard menu (no specials that night) had scallops which were super! Cooked perfectly with the broc rabe also perfect on the side. The risotto, possibly from another school of risotto-thought, was not so. Just OK and seeming under cooked a bit and underwhelming... some umami or like influence would be good/needed. Duck dish was nice...but, they asked if medium rare is OK which it is! and should be. It was a precut set portion of tiny fillets which is great ( tho Im a fan of on the bone or "whole" fillet). What came up was nearly raw in the middle...yes, I definitely could have sent it back, but i"m lazy I guess and wanted to start eating together. Note to chef: a thin/medium size line of pink is good but a big old bunch is not. Note I eat rare /medium rare everything including lamb and port, but this was 'too much'...again my fault for not sending back, but.... Asparagus side was done very well...not under/over cooked. I'll be back!“

We were sad to discover that they have cut down their hours and are so short staffed that their 2 bartenders are tripleling as Bartenders. waiters and greeters. “I recommend anything but the calzones. I’ve ordered food a bunch of times from Franco’s, a few times in person and 3 times via Grubhub. All 3 times I ordered through Grubhub I chose a calzone. The first time the calzone was cooked fantastically, but the last 2 times it was raw dough in the middle where the folds are. The last time I ordered a calzone which happened to be raw in the middle I just threw it away because I didn’t have time to make a complaint. I ordered another calzone tonight hoping it was just a fluke (New cook? Just super busy and overlooked? Whatever, we all make mistakes NBD) since everything else in my order was perfect. When it arrived I checked the calzone and it was raw again. I made the decision to call the restaurant to let them know and to see if I could send it back for something different. The man on the phone told me I was wrong and that he cooked it himself and it wasn’t raw because “he checked”. I told him it most certainly was raw and that I was hoping for an exchange. He said he couldn’t do anything for me and I’d have to call Grubhub about that. He said I’d have to go in person to exchange it. I said “okay fine I guess I’ll call Grubhub” and then he said something I couldn’t understand and hung up on me. I’m really disappointed. I frequent Franco’s for karaoke and spend money at the bar and restaurant often enough to expect a fair exchange and some decent customer service when I need it. I asked for his help and he offered me nothing. Order anything else but the calzones unless you like your dough to be raw, I guess? I HIGHLY recommend the jalapeño poppers though. They’re always perfect and a surprisingly good size.“

Nothing fancy, because the focus is on the food. I went for trad wings and some extra hot boneless. Boneless might have had a tad too much breading that made them fall apart a bit, but the flavor was 9/10. The wings on the bone though were the best I've had in a long time. Very traditional. “I have a sodium restriction and they accommodate very well. I check my medical stats today and no change. This shows that they didn't use sodium items on my food and still made it flavorful I loved the Haddock, Fries well needed ketchup and the coleslaw had to be made on site just by the creaminess and the freezing lemonade was unforgettable.“

Decent amount of seating at bars and tables. They have a few arcade games, an N64, and darts.Wheelchair accessibility: Someone with a wheelchair will be able to enter the main bar area. Difficult to access back room and bathrooms due to step/stairs. Most tables are high tops so they would be awkward to sit at with a chair.“

Their dinner menu is very varied and offers a bunch a great options. I have tried several and have not been disappointed. The food IS good, but as important, the price is just right. In today's world too many restaurants are over charging (AND under paying the staff!) but not here. Alone, a date night or a big group, you can not ho wrong here.
