“Loved my experience at the Greenbelt Silver Diner. I had been here before with my husband about two years ago and the service was terrible. Today's I experience changed my perspective! I loved how friendly and attentive our server Cassandra was. The manager Hansen also had great customer service. He came to our table not just to ask if everything was OK but also give us suggestions on food options and was very attentive. I loved the food and the atmosphere. I recommend the California omelet. “I met girlfriends for a Sunday brunch. I expected more options on the menu, and something more exciting. They carry the basic brunch stuff. No starters but I got a peach bellini...okay I got 3 of them. Delish! They allow dogs inside for dining. I am not much of a fan of that. “Very friendly staff. Early happy hour which is a big plus. I got the fried chicken sandwich with fries and it was quite good. The chicken was tender and fried perfectly. The hot cherry pepper sauce and slaw went great on top. The fries were seasoned with a dusting of old bay, I assume. I got the Hawaiian Punch which is essentially a mocktail and it was SO good. Not too sweet. Finished it off with the apple pie which is, as you may guess, unconventional as it kind of looked like a cinnamon bun and was caramelized very well. I would recommend eating here. It is a laid back atmosphere. Jeans and a t-shirt are appropriate as well as business attire.“

He created delectable cocktails and we also chatted along the way (we had bar seats which I highly recommend). This was very reasonably priced, we left very filled and happy. “Old Ebbitt has been a favorite of mine since I moved to DC in 2012. They have been consistent in the quality of their food and service. My absolute favorites have always been the salmon, Rueben, and the classic burger. Both so freaking delicious! But I have to say that I often come to Old Ebbitt with my coworkers because of their buffalo wings! We go after work and make our way to the cozy bar on the left side of the main entrance. We plant ourselves on a couple stools and order ourselves at least two plates of wings....double dipped. Make sure you ask for them double dipped so that they are crispier and saucier. I rarely ever drink beer but when having these wings, a beer actually goes down pretty good. I have claimed myself to be a taco expert in many of my reviews and I have the qualifications. But I think I may start calling myself a wings expert because I have tried so many places around town and identified the best. The list is very short because there are so many terrible wings being served in the DMV and it is quite a shame. But I will tell you right now....Old Ebbit is one of the best. The wings are perfectly crisp, have lots of sauce, very moist chicken, and very meaty. The cherry on top is the perfect amount of heat and thickness of the buffalo sauce. It also helps that their blue cheese is delicious which helps cool off those fresh off the fryer wings. So if you are ever in the mood for a quick treat, head over to Old Ebbit and find a spot at the bar and relax. The bartenders are always very cordial and people watching around the bar is fun. Sometimes I strike up a conversation with a stranger if I'm not in the middle of devouring a messy plate of wings. Hope to see you all there!“

“Such a romantic restaurant! Perfect for date night. My boyfriend & I had dinner here the Monday after valentine's day as a belated valentine's dinner. I was pleasantly surprised that the restaurant still had its valentine's decor in the bar entrance. So lovely! We made reservations for seats in the outdoor patio under the grapevines due to the reviews from other guests. Each table has a fire pit. And that was the major selling point for me to pick this restaurant. Great ambience for dinner. The restaurants provide blankets upon request. The seat warmers weren't working, but I still requested to sit on one rather than sit directly on the cold steel of the patio chairs. The fire did a good job of keeping me warm as it was a chilly February night.Since it was a Monday evening, there weren't many guests which was great. Nice & quiet for a romantic dinner. The service was excellent. Our waiter recommended a Greek wine which both my boyfriend & I really enjoyed. The cuisine is Greek Mediterranean. The dishes were unique, creative, & had great presentation. Everything was delicious from start to finish. It's family style so all dishes from appetizers to entrees to dessert are shared. We enjoyed the experience & left full but not overly stuffed, which is always a plus. The citrus salad & housemade focaccio bread were particular delectable.Highly recommend!! We'll be back for sure.“

“My colleague lives in the area and invited me for a drink and I had never heard of the spot. It was chill around happy hour, kinda empty. Classic dive bar. The beer was cold. By the second drink the place started to fill and it seemed like the male/female ratio was very lopsided to the female persuasion and at first I was like “cool”, and then I reeeally took it all in and started to wonder if I was at a gay bar (which is still totally cool). Maybe it was the vendor selling “Dyke” merchandise, or the fact that for once I was able to enjoy a drink without being bothered by strangers or crowded by yuppies. Either way the atmosphere was conducive to minding my own business and having a good time. The outdoor area is great. The upstairs had vendors with various art and wares they made. I have since learned that the event was actually “Dew Drop’s Dyke Party”. I would gladly come to another Tuesday “Dyke Party” if it’s always so chill (albeit not very diverse). The downstairs also had a bar and around 8 there was Christmas-themed live music of the R&B/Soul/Jazz persuasion. This crowd was substantially more eclectic and in my subjective views couldn’t be categorized as homogenous. Free live music in DC is unheard of so I was extremely gracious. My only complaint is that this is a dive in the heart of the dmv that doesn’t serve National Bohemian. But I have since learned that they allow dogs so I won’t hold it against them.“

“I went here with a couple friends to celebrate a birthday, and we were all very impressed with the food, the cozy atmosphere, and the friendliness and professionalism of the service staff.I got the hanger steak with a side of the potato gratin, and a slice of cheesecake with pineapple. The steak was really tender and flavorful, and it came with a mushroom sauce that was a perfect addition of flavor to an already excellent cut of meat. The potato gratin side was really buttery, and the cheesecake had a really interesting flavor with a hint of lemon in addition to it being rich and creamy. The house made bread is also an absolute go-to.The staff here is maybe the highlight of the experience. They're all really professional and knowledgeable, but beyond that, they're very friendly. They chatted with us at one point during our meal, and explained how they've all worked here for decades each, and that they feel like one big family. It definitely translates to their demeanor with the customer - it felt like we were talking to an old friend, and it definitely added a lot to the cozy, intimate experience that this place was overall.Apparently, due in part to the proximity to the Capitol, this restaurant is a popular spot for many politicians, evidenced by all the portraits on the walls of various political figures from both parties who have enjoyed a meal or several here. They might not be very adept at their actual job of legislating, but they know a good steak when they taste it apparently ?.An easy 5 out of 5 stars from me!“

I put salt on everything but no need to here because it's so flavorful (and cooked to perfection). I don't even need to try the ice cream to review it. Its handmade, and they have so many flavors, including marshmallow. Wish I could've indulged. Instead, I got one of the five dessert alcoholic flights. Again, amazing.Service - from everyone but specifically my waiter Mika - was phenomenal. Loved everyone here. And atmosphere is so intimate and warm.If I had to critique, I'd say don't sit next to the door. Super cold and windy in this corridor area. And, sharpen the steak knives. ?.“

“This a good place for a bite in the morning or a relaxing dinner in the evening. The menu is okay but could use some better dining options. For breakfast, stick with the basics, trying to over create a simple meal takes away from the meal. The pancakes do need some work though, not sure it they are trying to use gluten free flour but the pancakes just aren’t right. The dinner menu is good but could use some more variety. I do recommend a stop in and enjoy a good meal (just stay away from the pancakes)“

“Quaint classic restaurant in a hotel that's been around and open since the 1920's (in a converted townhouse dating back to the 1800's). Still has that historic feel to it. Service and food great, and if the weather is good, dine on the patio.“

“Always a gem. Great creative food, atmosphere that allows conversation, and service that is not pushy yet involved, if that makes sense. And, although they were only a few minutes late with our table, gave us a glass of champagne... we did not suffer!“

“It threw me off how in the cut it the location is but it ended up being a good time. It was like 2 other people sitting down so we had undivided attention from the server. The food was fresh & good & the drinks are strong. The prices are great & I will be back. I think its a hidden gem.“

“My partner and I walked in at 6:30 PM on a busy Friday night without a reservation (I didn’t realize they had started taking reservations!) The host said the only options were bar seating or outdoor seating under heat lamps. We didn’t really want either of those options, but understood that since we didn’t have a reservation, we could not be very choosy. The host then kept looking at his reservation app and offered us a very nice table as long as we could be finished by 8:30 PM. We said that two hours is plenty of time! He said he felt bad that there wasn’t room for us but we assured him this was perfect and we would definitely be finished by the time he needed the table back. He was so kind and accomodating. The rest of the staff was also excellent (as always!) and the food was outstanding. I have always loved Purple Patch and will certainly return soon. Thank you PP team for being awesome!“

“Fantastic spot. Randomly popped in here because I saw a La Chouffe sign through the window. Damn was I lucky. Their list of beers on draft is phenomenal and bottles to kick. I didn’t order food due to time constraints but sat next to someone who did and they smelled perfect and I almost moved my flight to eat there. But the environment and staff made it. Amazing vibes, perfect beer bar.Jim is a phenomenal bartender. One of the best in the biz. He was so attentive to everyone at the bar yet made you feel like he was your personal bartender. Great guy. Will become a regular stop for me on my quarterly visits to DC and you should add it to your stops too.“

The breakfast all day menu can be heavily customized.Vegetarian options: Huge selection if you eat fake meat/egg. Not a lot if you don't.Kid-friendliness: Crayons and paper to keep your kid entertained. And a few decent kid menu options.“

“I showed up last Sunday to watch the Commanders play the Giants and had a great time at this bar. I got the Sunday football special, which let me choose between 2 food options and a drink. I wound up getting the old bay wings, hot mess tots, and a surf side tea, all of which was pretty good, especially getting all that for $14! It’s definitely a great vibe for football Sunday, and I’m thinking about coming here more often during the week as well!“

“We came here a year ago- review is below. Came back this year for dinner and this place is fabulous!!!! The service (all staff from kitchen to servers to bartenders) amazing and food is some of the best I’ve had anywhere. Salmon risotto was cooked perfectly and the mushroom fettuccine was also delicious. Generous wine pours and Jazz on Friday evening with dinner. You won’t break the bank either with the reasonable prices. Thank you!!!My previous review:Great Happy Hour! Generous wine pours and friendly bartenders. Love the ambiance inside too. We only ordered a beet salad to share which was delicious and will definitely be back for dinner. We saw some of the entrees and can’t wait to try the Paella!“
