Chick and Ruth's is a memorable experience from another time. It's an old timey diner, with loads of personality. (read: not the white table cloth crowd). In another era, there may have been businessmen in pork pie hats dragging on a butt while reading the newspaper at the counter and sipping on their coffee. The decor screams it! I’ve been coming to Maryland for the past ten years. Chick and Ruth’s Deli Crab Cakes is one of the best I’ve ever had. Part of it is the seasoning on the crab cake. If you order a crab cake dinner here, one cake is more than plenty.
I arrived around 10:30am on a Thursday. I was greeted immediately and was told I could sit anywhere (you seat yourself). Netty was my server. She was kind and attentive and checked on me throughout my meal. Every employee I had an interaction with was friendly and personable. I ordered the pastrami reuben with fries.
