This place is INCREDIBLE!! I was not even going to post until after Mother's day because I don't want it to be booked!! So the menu is what!! The food is shut the front door ?!! The service is good and the Ambience is the absolutely most eclectic Baltimore you would ever want to experience. I thought the eggs were whipped cream. I said ohhhh"poached eggs for real". This Chef is an "Artiste". He be doing it to you with the food!! Sorry.. I get carried away but seriously. Did I say he has a cocktail list that ......Well. Only thing. I ordered online and they did not get the order. This was my second experience so........ Go dine in....Parking: I was fortunate both times but....... It is crowded around there.

We really enjoyed the food at our brunch at Water for Chocolate. Some highlights: The jerk duck was excellent with great spices and was so tender it was falling apart. The thyme waffle was very elegant. The bread pudding was a huge portion and we ate every bite. A couple of misses: The poached eggs were too cooked through and weren't runny, which defeats the whole point of having them on the plate. Also a bit stingy on the bruschetta with the artichoke dip. The service was a bit slower than we would have like and we sat for ten minutes after being seated before anyone came over. I would go back.

This place has flavorful food and I enjoyed everything I ate. However, the brunch was dampened by the fact that for a party of 6 you have very limited options for payment. It is normal for a restaurant to not split checks for you, but to not allow you to split the check yourself and use multiple cards or methods to pay is ridiculous. They will split the check evenly but not everyone wants to pay for more than what they ate. So fair warning to you with larger parties, venmo, paypal etc will need to be available with one person willing to put the whole check on their account. Not cool, like I said it made the overall experience not as great.

Absolutely delightful! Water for Chocolate in Baltimore is a culinary gem that presents a fusion of flavors reminiscent of a warm hug from within. The moment we walked through the doors, we were embraced by an environment that perfectly blends coziness with a sophisticated dining experience. The chef's creativity shines through in every dish, offering a modern twist on classic comfort food that tantalizes the taste buds. The service was impeccable—attentive, friendly, and genuinely caring about our dining experience. It's clear the staff takes pride in their work, making every guest feel like a part of the Water for Chocolate family. From the starter to the dessert, each course was a revelation. Standouts include their signature seafood dishes, where the freshness and quality could rival any high-end establishment. Yet it's not just the food that makes this spot a treasure; it's the whole ambiance—a cozy interior that makes you want to linger and savor each moment. Whether it's a casual brunch with friends or a romantic dinner for two, this restaurant accommodates all with ease and grace. Water for Chocolate didn't just serve us a meal; it served us a memorable experience that we'll be sharing with friends and family. This is not just a must-visit spot in Baltimore—it's a must-return. Five stars all the way!

My wife and I had a great time enjoying all of the delicious food! Each course arrived in a timely manner with excellent presentation. The server was very engaging and kept us smiling and laughing throughout our dining experience. We will definitely go back.

Incredible spot in Upper Fells! I've driven by this non-descript restaurant for years and finally made it in for brunch. It's a small spot so you should definitely make a reservation rather than relying on walking in for a table. We actually did not anticipate a reservation but the host juggled some tables around to fit us in and was extremely gracious about it! They have fresh squeezed OJ for their mimosas (by the glass or carafe) which were delicious, and French press coffee; both of these come in quantities perfect for sharing with a table of four. The menu is seasonal with some permanent items. We had the challah French toast which was a huge portion considering it was an appetizer, and rich and delicious. The other items were the WFC bowl (pictured) which had pork belly, rice, eggs, and a lovely sauce. The hit item was definitely the jerk duck confit -- a waffle with compote, poached eggs, and the most delicious duck I have had in months! The server told us this stay has been on the menu for years, and I can definitely see why!

Fabulous! Went for a New Years special prix fixe menu, it was amazing! The atmosphere was very intimate, one amazing chef, one splendid server, and a grand experience! We were late and they still were able to seat us.

Great atmosphere-- small but laid back (you need a reservation) and open to the kitchen. Food is unreal. Standouts were the nitro shrimp with grits, cornbread, and chicken dumplings. Will for sure go back!

My wife and I went for Saturday brunch and it was amazing. The corn bread was excellent and the Mac and cheese was great. We were in Baltimore for a weekend getaway and definitely want to try dinner the next time we are in town.

Everything was curated with perfection & the food was made with care. Very fresh ingredients. We celebrating a birthday, the birthday boy was very impressed. The Service was absolutely phenomenal and the food is to die for. Every bite feels like love. I'd highly recommend for a high quality intimate dinner experience.

Such a Gem! Every dish that we ordered was cooked perfectly and very flavorful. It was definitely worth taking the road trip from PA to MD to try out.

The food never disappoints at Water for chocolate. The server was good, but the drinks are not that great. The brunch selection is good options and touches on a variety of different foods that people would want to eat. Everything has good flavor and is cooked well. I also appreciate if something is wrong the Chef is quick to fix it, the restaurant has grown in size and we were set quickly so that was great. I think it is a cool spot to check out if you want good food and good vibes.
