20/10 experience! Miya Lounge has incredibly tasty African food, great artwork, amazing customer service, and an inviting atmosphere. I had the okra soup with gari & goat meat with rice, it was MOUTH WATERING! I absolutely recommend trying out this restaurant, you will not be disappointed!

Let's start off with the ambience. From the artwork and decor to the music you walk feeling warm and welcome. The paintings on the walls are stunning pieces of original artwork and you can feel her love for the restaurant through how she decorates even down to the counter top where the register is. Now to the food. The portions of even the appetizers were enough to fill you up but me and my friends made sure to leave room for our main dishes. I had the suya tacos, plantain, and egusi with fish and garri and not a single dish was a miss. Everything was perfectly seasoned and cooked. This was my 3rd time there and I always come exited to try something new. She's also super patient with me every time I have questions about the dishes, ask for recommendations, or request a modification. I also got to see a paint class in action and am excited to join next time. Also the prices are very reasonable especially considering how much food you get. All in all, 5 stars and will continue to return and bring everyone to check out this gem.

On my first visit I was treated with such kindness and efficiency. I ordered the suya pizza - it was amazing! Not to mention, the music playing had me dancing the whole time. I will be back very soon. ♡

Food is way overpriced, smaller portions. Suya was dry, Eru was tasteless pure palm oil. Not coming back.

Man, there's a lot of African spots here in the DMV but I gotta show Miya love. I had the Suya, plantains, and spinach which was a staple for me growing up. They didn't disappoint. My wife had the N'dole with corn fufu and she enjoyed her meal as well. Highly recommend!

As always, food was really good! Got my usual Suya Tacos. The only hiccup was I called my order in beforehand and still had to wait for a little, but they made up for it by offering me a drink with my order. Declined as I don't drink soda or other sugary drinks, but was appreciative! They were very nice.

I came based on a food critics review. I wanted to love it but it wasn't great at all. I tried the egusi soup and jollof rice. I was very disappointed.

I loved both of my experiences at Miya Lounge! The first time I ordered out. I had Egusi soup. It was more than delicious! The portions are great! The prices are great! The food is prepared fresh. I love this because some African restaurants do not cook their food fresh. Miya lounge does!! I also tried the Suya pizza on my second visit. This time I sat inside and dined in. The experience was amazing. The waiter Clifford was exceptional! The staff is just so kind and friendly. The establishment is professional and kept up well. My friend had the peanut butter soup with jollof and boiled plantains. She loved them! I highly recommend this place!!Vegetarian options: My friend is vegetarian and they had plenty of options! They were able to accommodate her wishes.

This place came highly recommended from a tik Tok reviewer so I thought I would try them on my next craving on authentic African food. Unfortunately they disappointed me. The price is high but I understand for this type of cuisine it’s expected. What I did not expect is them to give me the standard plastic Chinese carry out container for this dish. The portion was small. Please don’t expect to get a good portion for $30. These people appeal to others, not really the folk that grew up on good African cuisine. The way their food is packaged gives bougee. The most disappointing thing was the taste of the Egusi. I believe it was made with veggie oil and not palm oil. Well, that’s their preference but I can say I’ve had many dishes without palm oil and the food was not watered down. The Egusi did not give what it needed to give. Please folk. If you’re a foodie like me, go to a better well known place you’re familiar with. One that slaps!!I’d like to recommend After 12 in hyattsville.
