“We went here for the first time today and absolutely loved it. The atmosphere is so welcoming and relaxing. The food is excellent I recommend the crab cake appetizer, the heavenly eggs, and the chicken and waffles. I also noticed the manager going around to tables making sure everyone got great service and I thought that was great to see. Our server was Natalia with the beautiful red hair, she is so sweet and polite. She was also efficient and checked on us often and I look forward to having her as our server again. Overall this was a great first experience and we will definitely be back. I have literally no complaints!“
“My family goes there often. Today, I had the breakfast burrito, which was delicious. The homemade pickled jalapeños are really delicious. My daughter had chicken fingers,which were also quite good. We got tater tots with both entrees. Tater tots are good anytime, anywhere. We left with a cookie each. My peanut butter cookie was delicious, and my daughters Smores cookie got rave reviews as well. Will be going back soon.“
“This was our first time coming in and we really enjoyed our food. We got chicken and waffles, a classic crepe, and an egg and cheese crepe.The chicken was especially good!Staff was also super nice. There's a little coffee bar off to the side with sugar and different flavored creamers. I asked if they had just regular milk and they were able to give me some which was much appreciated.Definitely will be back.“
“I've always loved this place in the past. We expected to wait on Sunday for brunch. Told 45 minutes, you can take a walk, so we did. About 20-25 minutes, then waited on the sidewalk while they called other people. After 20 more minutes, I asked to see where we were on the list and they'd been calling people who arrived after us. The atmosphere is nice and one of the main things I liked here. Acoustics are terrible though. When everyone is talking, it's hard to hear your dining companions. The prices have gone up, like everywhere, and the food was just good. Probably won't return for a while.Vegetarian options: They used to have a veggie Benny, but it was not on the menu this time. Not super impressed with veg options.“

“A hidden Jem, you could miss this spot if you didn't know it was there. Dont come here expecting Ruth Chris type scene but expect excellent made food. This place has been a staple in Mt Vernon for at least 15 yrs. I have never had a bad food experience here in all the years I've been patronizing this establishment. The food is especially good after a night out drinking. Good coffee, yes, yummy grits with cheese (my daughter had the tomato soup and grilled cheese) , relaxed homey elevated atmosphere with aninstallation of African textiles, patterns, color, and more. “This is one of the only things I missed about going into the office was coming here and getting a sausage egg and cheese on wheat toast with jelly and butter. This deli does what its needs to do its in a convenient location, its quick and the food is good. Cant ask for anything else“

“Just started going here every morning with my daughter while driving her to school, they are very friendly, have great service and prepare the food quickly even when they're really busy. Highly recommend this place great breakfast sandwiches and I'm sure the other food is just as good. Will definitely continue hitting them up every morning for breakfast.“

“Rise fulfilled a catering order for my office this week. Everyone enjoyed the food so much. When I picked it up the food was hot, service was super friendly, and they threw in some butters and jams for the biscuits. Overall a great experience. Would definitely use for catering again!“

“Excellent customer service. Arrived just after a very large group and employee apologized several times for needing to wait a little. Employee also offered to make us a unique off-menu sandwich of his own creation and it was delicious. Waffle grilled cheese was also very satisfying. Definitely recommend and will be back soon.“
“From the door to when we received the check the service was outstanding. The entire staff was so pleasant. The food was amazing and came out so fast and during our visit there was a computer issue with processing credit payments and the waitress kept checking in and updating us and the manager came in (even though it was clearly not her shift) and helped her team reboot the system. Mind you this is all at 1am in the morning! Literally such great management and great staffing. I would definitely come back and recommend this location.“
