“The best restaurant in USA“

“I'm from NY but I have family in MD that's not too far from this location, that recommended this place, NY Chicken & Fish. It's a clean & quaint establishment with an approximate 6-9 table seating area that's cozy. My family & I ordered take out & had the fried fish & a Philly cheesteak sandwich (all with fries) & we loved it all!The owner told us that he is originally from Brooklyn & he "clowned/teased us" for being from Long Island, NY which we are used to, lol. The staff is friendly & accommodating & the food is very good. Our wait time was minimal. My only disappointment was not making it back there before I left MD, but that was my fault! LOL I highly recommend NY Chicken & Fish restaurant & I DEF plan to re-visit them when I return to MD, Lord willing!Vegetarian options: There are limited vegan options.Kid-friendliness: They have kids meals & are a kid friendly establishment.Parking: They have parking on the premises.“

“This was our second time ordering from Ledo's this year. We liked our first try and came back for more. The pizza is thin crust and has plenty of toppings. The crust was a little floury this time but still good enough to eat. These 2 pizzas we ordered had plenty of flavor; one was white with chicken and the other red with pepperoni. The pieces are cut really small compared to what I'm used to, but that is fine. We also added some chicken wings to the order and were not pleased with the chicken nuggets that were served, guess I should have read the fine print. All in all it was not the worst, but far from the best.“

“Had dinner before the Oh He Dead concert on Saturday December 17, 2022. We arrived a little before our seating and immediately were greeted and taken to our spots. Ian was outstanding! He was attentive, descriptive and helped create a good experience. Dan, our bartender, was magnificent. He created delectable cocktails and we also chatted along the way (we had bar seats which I highly recommend). This was very reasonably priced, we left very filled and happy. I want to give the highest possible compliments to Ian and Dan. The entire experience was perfect, largely because of the great food, but they took the experience well beyond a 1 star evening!“

“So, if not the most iconic, this is certainly one of the most iconic restaurants in DC. Located just on the other side of the White House, it boasts a rich history, including menus from 1910 and other historical artifacts.The restaurant's design is stunning and truly lives up to the hype.As for the food, it's good but not exceptional. The asparagus campanelle was amazingly delicious and was my favorite dish. The meatballs were my second favorite. The chicken fettuccine was just average, and I didn't enjoy the spicy sausage garganelli.The Caesar salad and clam chowder were also good.Overall, I really like this restaurant for its vibe and historical significance. The food, however, is not particularly impressive.Parking: It’s near White House, so don’t expect much for parking“

We usually sit at the upstairs bar. Chefs table was great as well. The wine flight is worth every penny. Bring your Amex!“

“First I would like to say that I wish there were more than 5 stars. My son and I are visiting the DC area for the Cherry Blossom festivities. My son has a love for Indian food ever since his trip to India. I have never tried Indian food ever. So this was my very first experience. From the moment we walked in the door our amazing experience began. The atmosphere is beautiful and so is the staff. Our server, April was super helpful and very knowledgeable. She has an amazing spirit and is wonderful with her job! The food... was very fresh, aromatic and DELICIOUS!! My son said the food was the closest to the food in India that he has had here in the states. For my first time... OMG!!! I am HOOKED! The only bad part is that I have to go back to Florida and wait impatiently for my next visit.“

Wagyu beef skewers from the bar was one of the best things I’ve ever had. All the skewers were amazing and the fried chicken and other bar snacks are classic bar foods, but way elevated- can not wait for the rest of the space to open!“

“Anju is one of my favorite Korean restaurants in the District. Please go check them out with there new spring food menu and cocktails! We sat at the bar and had an amazing experience. We enjoyed the inasal, tocino, and ube latte (complete with delicate latte art) courtesy of Sun and Stars Coffee. Our kid was thrilled she could enjoy an ube steamer, too-- and didn't want to stir her drink because she found the art (Hiraya's logo in this instance) so beautiful. “Genuinely outstanding ramen -- Menya Hosaki has a small, but mighty menu, with shoyu, tonkotsu, and tantan ramens. Each of their broths is remarkably flavorful, and their noodles are fantastic: they're springy and have a slight bite, but are also perfectly slurpable. They're thick, curly, and will put you to sleep instantly -- truly everything you want from your bowl of ramen!I was also incredibly impressed by their vegan / vegetarian ramen; most shops fall into the trap of making their veggie options super light and almost sad, with nothing to replace the flavor and richness provided by the meat. Menya Hosaki, however, embraces the veggies, loading up their bowls with a rich, creamy almond milk-based broth (never thought I'd say the words "rich and creamy" and "almond milk" in the same sentence), infused with sesame oil / paste and, if you decide to opt for their tantan ramen, a wonderful hit of their housemade chili. Then, they level up the bowl with a bunch of toppings, including kikurage (woodear mushrooms, which give the noodles a great crunch and act as tiny ladles for the soup), scallions, menma (bamboo shoots, which offer a bit of umami), spinach, seaweed, fried tofu (which act as perfect little sponges for all the glorious broth), and, of course, the ever-critical soft-boiled ramen egg.Menya Hosaki is hands down one of DC's best ramen spots for meat-eaters and vegetarians alike. The interior of the shop is also adorable, with super streamlined, no-frills decor and an open kitchen / bar that almost makes it feel like you're at a ramen bar in Tokyo. They don't take reservations, which can be tough given how popular the restaurant is, but the line moves quickly and they're absolutely worth the wait!“

“I am truly a pick eater so anytime I'm able to do a full tasting menu with no worries about having eating restrictions I jump at the opportunity. Oyster Oyster has such a carefully crafted menu for vegans and vegetarians alike. The only element that is not vegan is the oyster they serve as one of the tasting elements. Other than that, it is truly a vegan person's heaven. So much fresh vegetables cooked in ways I literally could not have dreamed up. The Gnocchi mushroom dish served with the broccoli bread was my absolute favorite part of the menu. The bread was served with marigold butter that absolutely blew my mind. Do yourself a favor and also try the Non Alcoholic tasting menu to accompany your dish as it was such a great way to get more fresh juices and tonics to accompany the meal. I highly highly recommend this place to everyone and a round of applause to their excellent service as well.“

“My partner and I walked in at 6:30 PM on a busy Friday night without a reservation (I didn’t realize they had started taking reservations!) The host said the only options were bar seating or outdoor seating under heat lamps. We didn’t really want either of those options, but understood that since we didn’t have a reservation, we could not be very choosy. The host then kept looking at his reservation app and offered us a very nice table as long as we could be finished by 8:30 PM. We said that two hours is plenty of time! He said he felt bad that there wasn’t room for us but we assured him this was perfect and we would definitely be finished by the time he needed the table back. He was so kind and accomodating. The rest of the staff was also excellent (as always!) and the food was outstanding. I have always loved Purple Patch and will certainly return soon. Thank you PP team for being awesome!“

“I went to the restaurant Monday night, even for a Monday night the place was packed. My wife and I ordered the special 1 and the special 3. The food was very delicious but the service was even extra ordinary! After our server realized my wife has a hearing problem, she tired to help us order by the few sign language she knows. She told my wife “Going out for dinner experience includes ordering food for yourself so I wanted you to part of it” which made my wife so emotional. By the end of our night we taught her some new sign languages which might help her for other customers. She was so friendly and patient even though the house was so packed. I’m so happy my wife had the experience she did. I didn’t know it met so much to my wife until I saw how happy her face was. I will definitely recommend it for people who have hard of hearing or family member. It will definitely make them happy they are part of the EXPERIENCE rather than sit there while other people order the food for them.“

While it's at the top of the price curve it's well worth the money. The portions are surprisingly large for the 4 courses one receives. A must if you are in DC.“
