“First Time going to this spot...It may be new, but what a hidden gem. Located in the parking lot in front of Laurel, MD Home Depot, let me tell yall, this food is fire! I had the egusi and poundu yam. The egusi flavor pops out at you. Not too oily, not too spicy. My son had the jellof rice. The smokeness was on point. Better than Jellof I've had in Ghana. My hats off to the chef as mama put her whole foot in this food!!! God is my witness, ill be back!!!!! This is a Latin and West African offering cuisine. Do yourself and them the favor of supporting this establishment. I almost missed out in a blessing. P.S...it's also a lounge so they may get down on weekends. Not sure as yet.Mama...I'm coming back for my cassava fufu.Constructive critique....add a little more base to the soup.“
“Great place for jolloff rice and other traditional Ghanaian or West African foods! I don't want to butcher the spelling of some of the items I've had, but I loved the rice and beans with fish and this spicy drink that was also fruity. It was delicious! Great fast service, a little pricey, but the food is made to order! Well worth it! I also took home wings and jerk chicken that my children loved!“
“This is the best African cuisine restaurant in the DMV. That is the incontrovertible truth. However, the wait time is longer than the Mississippi!!!The staff are friendly and very hard working but the wait time is ALWAYS too long. When you do get your food, you are inclined to forget how long you waited for it after the first bite!Update.... The wait time...ugh! The wait time.... #facepalm!Parking: Fairly good parking. But the WAIT TIME... dear Lord...abysmal.“
“Aduke’s kitchen DOES NOT DISAPPOINT. Period. Catered two events with this business and both brought on the WOW factor. Some people caterer as a business and means of income, others as a passion and something they enjoy. For Aduke’s kitchen, it’s so clear to see this is a passion because the service and excellence is amazing, thoughtful, and tasty!“
“Great place to eat. There wasn't a person at the hostess stand so we looked around the corner and someone spotted us and came over to sit us down, less than a five minute wait. Super attentive, lovely decorations. Food was delicious. Plenty of options for spicy food lovers.“
“The food I ordered (lamb & goat w/ rice) was seasoned and cooked to perfection. The ginger & pineapple drink is made with a kick of a spicy ingredient but it is very refreshing.Overall you get a good portion for your money.Be patient, the service is a little slow but the food is worth the wait.“
“Great, no-frills West African place. Jodeem easily outpaces regional competitors on flavors. Earthy, spicy, sweet in all the right proportions. We got the bitter leaf soup with beef, spinach and beans with chicken, and beef patties. The bitter greens were the clear winner in fragrance and “
“I've had this place a couple times due to them catering events I go to. I've only tried the jollof and decided to give their pounded yam and egusi a try. I absolutely loved it! The egusi was very flavorful and spicy. The pounded yam was soft with no lumps at all. The beef was a bit too tough but the goat meat was soft and easy on the teeth. I'd definitely try them again!“
“Tried for the first time and the food was really good. I got the okra soup with goat meat and pounded yam fufu. The staff was helpful. The portion size was a bit small (only comes with two pieces of goat meat but you can purchase more) and it was expensive (I paid and $25).“
“We ordered lunch for 30 people, which the Hunger Tamer catered. The communication with the restaurant was excellent, and they worked with us to finalize and customize a great menu. Delivery was on time and again the communication was on point. My colleagues loved the food which had great flavor and generous portions. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant for an event.“
