“Think you can handle some spice? Want to eat something healthy? Haven’t needed to use Google Translate in the US before (mostly kidding, the server understood us just fine.)Bring at least 2 hungry friends and drive all the way out to Gaithersburg! We drove 20’ here from the hotel but for all the amazing Asian food we can eat in LA, they we don’t have this delicious fish soup. It is rare and special to experience totally new cuisine.Looks like we’d have to go to fly to Sichuan, Dallas, or Flushing to eat this elsewhere.Plentiful, free parking in the public lot. Small restaurant. No reservations.Their fresh watermelon juice perfectly complements the delicious, slightly sour, spicy fish soup/stew (they have regular & numbing…can only imagine how spicy “numbing” is…almost ordered it but worried that I might regret it in the morning…apologies that’s TMI.)ORDER their delicious milk mochi dessert.Cannot wait to eat here again next time we’re in DC/MD.Cheers & Happy Eating!DocMikeChiro“

“The lunch specials are great! Had the twice cooked pork, the spicy ribs, and the cold spicy chicken dish ( I forgot the take pictures of all of them, which is usually a good sign). Not busy on a Friday and free parking in the building (for under 2 hours). I want to go back and try the fish dishes. Great service and very attentive waiters.“

“This was such a pleasure to eat and socialize. We came in with a big party of 9 and were immediately seated. Service was hospitable, fast and attentive. Foods that I am normally averse to were so delicious. The golden crab was my favorite.Next time we’re back in DC this will be our go to. Thank you“

“4 stars for 4 reasons:1. Overall, the food was really good for the exception of one or two items. The crispy wontons appetizer are delicious!2. The price is very inexpensive3. The amount you of food you get is really great4. The customer service provided is super great and decor is awesome!Minus 1 star because the beef shank salad was ok. The Szechuan was not that strong. The meat was not that tender and the beef at the bottom was kind of mushy“

“My wife and I are from southwest of China. I would say Chef Lee's Element makes the best and the most authentic southwest Chinese dishes in DC area. We've tried almost every dish and it never lets us down. For the service, I want to thank Micheal for his kind and wonderful service, he is always smiling and talkative and gives his nice recommendations of the dishes. We go there almost every week.“

“Out for dinner with mom.... we had the Spicy Conch, Eggplant with Basil hot plate, Homestead Tofu with ChickenAll 3 dishes were full of flavor, exquisite in their specific aromas n textures.... easily one of the very best fares in this region!!I gave a lower mid range score to service.... not because they are bad or mediocre.... this restaurant is not the typical full service.... the wait staff are very nice n friendly.... they just deliver your self written order to kitchen.... then bring food when readyWell worth repeated visits??“

“We came twice, one dining in, one take-out. We tried the specials (not on English menu): 什锦炒河粉three meat fried with veggies and wide rice noodles; 盐酥鸡便当fried popcorn chicken bento; 夜市炒花枝night market squid soup; 三文鱼炒饭salmon fried rice. The most recommended dish is the fried wide rice noodle, very good portion, good amount of protein and veggies. My second favorite goes to squid soup, comfort food, squid is fresh, good nutrition balance! It's good to have a restaurant offers family style food nearby.“

“How have I forgotten to write a review for Sichuan Pavilion??? It is my absolute go-to in DC for mapo tofu. I don't get Chinese takeout often, but of the handful of places I've tried, this one tops them all. My partner is a fan of their Eggplant with garlic sauce and their vegetable lo mein. I'm not going to describe any of these in further detail because they're all so universal, if you've had a good version, you know, and they're all good versions here. Extremely generous portions, including of the complimentary white rice, and the service is quick and very courteous. Being near Farragut Square makes it super convenient to get to, too.“

“Pleasantly surprised with how good the food was. The iron pot rice with chicken sausage was excellent. The rice was cooked perfectly and not overpowered by soy sauce. What's nice is the menu offers more hard core Chinese dishes in a way that many in the US could appreciate. The flounder in numbing sauce is an example. This is not a dish you'll see on most Chinese menus in suburbia US. It is a good choice and had interesting flavors without being too odd. The steamed bronzino is another example of a good balance of flavors and not masking the taste of the fish. The restaurant is nicely decorated and provided a good environment for a meal with friends.“

“Without a doubt, my top pick for Chinese cuisine in North Bethesda! From the restaurant's ambiance to the exceptional service, including the unique addition of a robot assisting the servers, it's a solid 10 out of 10. Highly recommended. We kicked off our dining experience with some drinks - the Espresso Martini, a delightful new addition to their menu, proved to be a favorite as I ended up ordering two more! My friends highly recommended the Classic Manhattan and Zombie cocktails. We also indulged in the Fuji Volcano, a captivating presentation with flames in the middle, perfect for rum/brandy enthusiasts. Now onto the food. We started with a selection of appetizers - the cucumber salad, Schezuan chili wontons, chef's special dry chili chicken, and shrimp dumplings. This lineup has become our go-to order every visit, as we're absolutely enamored with these appetizers. For the main course, we savored the Ma Po Tofu and Eggplant in Spicy Garlic Sauce - hands down, the best Ma Po Tofu I've ever tasted, and the eggplant was equally delightful. Additionally, we tried the lamb chops, which boasted an impressive presentation with fire, though the flavors didn't quite win me over. In summary, this establishment reigns supreme for Chinese cuisine in the area!“
