“Second time coming to East Dumpling House, straight off the bat I must say I already give it points for being one of the few great late night food options in Rockville! The ambience is lively at night with the disco balls and RGB lights, a well as the open karaoke stage. We ordered plenty of dishes, but focusing just on the ones I have pictured, I got the Crystal Shrimp Dumplings (Har Gow), Eggplant in Garlic Sauce, and "Northeast Fried Pork in Scoop". The dumplings wrapper had a nice texture to it that you expect with these classic Dim Sum shrimp dumplings, and the filling was plump and savory. The Eggplant in Garlic Sauce is served cold, and the garlic sauce was suuuper savory, pretty tasty! The Northeast Fried Pork consisted of fried sliced pork in a sweet and savory sauce, the fry on the meat was really nice, had succulent crispy textures! Service was alright, we received our dishes sporadically at different times, with varying lengths of time between each dish. Not a big deal, but there was a point where we weren't sure if our order for the remaining dishes were still coming or not. Overall it's one of Rockville's OG Chinese places, and a great option for late night eats!“
“We tried this restaurant again yesterday evening and the food was quite good. Many Asian families occupied large round tables and the diners seemed happy with their choices. We enjoyed the hot and sour soup, double mushroom with mustard greens and a steamed Sea Bass ($34).“
“I have always loved coming here. Everyone is so nice, it's family owned and service is fast. The food is authentic and the carrot pastry is something special!Kid-friendliness: The environment is vibrant and beautiful, they have a cool fish tank and if you go there for Chinese New Year, they throw a huge celebration!“
“Perfect Sunday Dim Sum brunch. They seat before 11am, and we’re filled by 11:30. This place is always a winner for my family. The chrysanthemum tea is a delight as well. There are so many people working, you’re quickly taken care of.Not pictured but equally delicious were the baked pork buns, sticky rice, honey walnut shrimp, shrimp cheung fun, crispy taro, pan fried noodles, garlic Choy sum, eggplant with shrimp.“
“pretty good dim sum place, went around 1 p.m. on a Monday. The place was quite empty, there was only my family and three other groups there. Since it was quite late there weren’t many dim sum choices left so if you want a variety of dim sum, go before noon. The shrimp dim sum dumpling was my favorite since it had actual shrimp in there and it tasted amazing. The roasted duck wasn’t bad but it was a bit too oily for me, feel like they should’ve roasted longer so the oil would be more dried up. Overall, the food was pretty good and the service was amazing, our teapot was never empty.“
“Carryout order. One of only 2 Dim Sum restaurants serving after 3PM in the I270 area. Food has gotten better since about a year ago. Prices are more reasonable than most Dim Sum restaurants. This restaurant has been around a while and has been on the struggling side post covid. If you are in the area it is worth a try.“
“Some of the best dim sum in the area. Plentiful choices on the carts, well made and fresh. Perhaps a touch more expensive than standard but I feel it's worthwhile for the quality. Also not as crowded as some of the others, so you could roll up at noon and probably land a table without a wait.I recommend the Har gow and the char siu pastry, super good. Sio Mai was a little gamey and off, unfortunately.“
