Hwagae Jangteo is indeed an age-old restaurant, with both the proprietor and the establishment itself showing signs of the passage of time. While the aged appearance might be considered a drawback, it holds its own as a worthwhile dining spot in Rockville.
Great food and service for authentic Korean food. It's a bit pricy but it's worth it. Provides decent portion size and has okay side dishes that come with the meals.The parking lot is a hellscape. They are tight and when it gets busy it's a long wait to get out.

This seems to be a "real Korean" restaurant. There is a menu full of interesting choices. There is a lot of food with whatever option you choose. I went for lunch. There was a "lunch special." But, there wasn't anything special about the lunch menu prices. It was priced like any of the dishes on the regular menu. The service was nothing special as well.
