The people are welcoming and wonderfully nice, but I can't recommend it to bikers on the C&O canal that are trying to maintain any kind of schedule. We ordered a burger and fish sandwich. At 30 minutes we were apologized to for the delay. At 45 minutes our order was retaken, the first lost in the computer. Another 40 minutes later we finally got the food. She gave it to us gratis, but killing an hour and 45 minutes meant we had to ride hard for 35 miles to get into Harpers Ferry before dark, which we barely achieved.

There was only one cook and one waitress. Everything was slow. The fish sandwich was a dry bun, pitifully thin lettuce and tomato and a low end fried fish patty - pretty much tasteless The fries were good and crispy. To their credit they comped the food since it took an hour to deliver what took 5 minutes to make.

I travel all over the country for work and ended up in Hagerstown for a job. Luckily found this place and all the bartenders and owners are the best. They made me feel totally welcome and at home. The regulars that come here made me feel the same. The food is limited but what they have is fantastic. If you are ever in this area you would cut your self short if you don't come here and let them know you are from out of town because before you leave you will feel like you are part of the family here.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. We got there after biking on the C&O, and even though they were about to close the grill when we walked in, they kept it open for us to order dinner. There were 6 of us, and we were all thankful and enjoyed our dinner. This is a cash only place, and they have an ATM.

This is exactly what we were looking for! My wife and I were looking for a local place. This place is phenomenal. Local neighborhood bar and grill. 1/2 pound burgers, wings, sandwiches, and great friendly service. (And you can talk to the chef as she cooks). Nothing on tap but hey, I don't have a tap at home either. I'm only sorry I missed seeing the IC Light in the cooler. However, the local "Glolden" was great. A great ride on the C&O canal was topped off by lunch here. Next time the destination will be this place and the bike ride a side note...if I decide to ride. I could sit here all day and watch the Game Show Network! LOL

Ate here while cycling the C&O Canal. Food was good, service was great, and good conversations with the locals were had. Good bike rack out front too.
