This place is conveniently located on Western Avenue in Augusta in the same building that was once a Pizza Hut, if I recall. When you walk in it definitely has a Mexican feel to it which is complimented by the Mexican music. We were greeted and sat down pretty fast. The chips and salsa were your typical homemade fried chips along with a salsa that was tasty. My guest and I had ordered Margaritas which came in a very large glass, mucho in size compared to other Mexican restaurants. You could definitely taste the alcohol and was not watered down at all. I had the carne asada tacos which came with cilantro, onion, lime, a habanero sauce, refried beans and Mexican rice. The meat was slightly overcooked, but still had some flavor to it. The rice and refried beans were good. I was happy with it given the size and quantity given for the price. As I write this, this location has permanently shut down and it's unclear as to why.

Last night was the first time we have gone and were very disappointed. As soon as we walked in the door we were told we could not have my service dog in the restaurant. I informed the host that it was required by law. At that point I was ready to leave but they sat us (well pointed) in an empty room by ourselves (not a huge deal). All the tables were dirty. Waitress was ok but needed a personality. And took her 15 min just to get a water and soda. Food was delivered fairly quickly but was bland. The rice was bright yellow but had no flavor, chicken looked flavorful but wasn’t. I ate a small portion and couldn’t get any more down. My husband immediately went and threw up after eating maybe 1/3 if his food, and has been sick for almost 24 hours. The bathroom was absolutely disgusting. We will not be back. If I could give negative stars, I would.

We usually do fajita Friday and order El tequila through doordash. Great way to end the week right? no. absolutely not the last three times we have ordered from these guys. We've gotten kind of sick upset stomach the next morning into the day didn't really connect it el tequila at first. But this last Friday really took the cake! I threw up half the weekend and my husband has had severe food poisoning all weekend long. you guys also need to get your quality control check. because the last several times we've gotten guacamole dip it was completely off colored all the way to the center..which means it bad. I leave reviews for through the doordash app but I'm pretty sure they don't get read. we were so sick this weekend it was the absolute final straw please get your quality control under.... control.

The food has been great. We are new to the Augusta area and don’t go out to eat often. The service is friendly, prompt, and the food is authentic and fresh. We’ve gotten take out twice and it’s been super delish. We recommend El Tequila for sure.

My wife and I went for dine in service and I got some sort of steak and cheese burrito. The cheese tasted like the stuff in the jar in the chip aisle at the grocery store. The contents of the burrito were like a typical steak and cheese, fried peppers, onions, and steak, but also had beans inside. The menu led me to believe they were on the side. The result was very weird and unappealing. There were no discernable spices other than salt, pepper, and whatever was in the highly processed cheese sauce. Not even cumin. My wife got an enchilada plate. She liked hers better than I liked mine except for the hideous red sauce. I am fairly certain that their red sauce is composed of Knorr powdered chicken/tomato stock with some hot sauce added. That stuff is a great shortcut for Mexican style rice, but it has no place in a red sauce. Dried peppers are so cheap, but this place used powdered stock as the base for their red sauce that is ubiquitous in Mexican cooking. My wife ordered take-out from them a few weeks later to give them another chance and there it was again, that horrendous fake red sauce. It tastes like Chef Boyaredee tomato sauce with a bit of spice added, and it ruins every meal that includes it.

Delicious, fast service, reasonable prices— this is the best Mexican food I’ve had in Augusta, more traditional than other restaurants in the area. Food was flavorful, I had fajitas, and they were just what I was craving. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. Give it a chance, don’t believe everything you read in the negative reviews! I will definitely be coming back.

Very slow service, with only one table occupied within the restaurant. Server was nice. Drinks were barely passable and food was not good. This was the second time I'd been here to see if it had gotten any better within the last two years. It hasn't.

Had an absolutely wonderful lunch on Friday, Nov 26th, 2021. The lunch version of the Alambre was so flavorful. The server was very attentive, food was served so quickly. We were planning to go to one of the chains in Augusta for steak, they were too busy and this was a windfall for us! So glad we stopped for a great lunch, ambiance was good, the food and service excellent! Can't recommend strongly enough. Support this local restaurant.

Food is really very good. It wasn't the most visually appealing but that was quickly overcome with the first bite! Menu is excellent, I recommend the El Tequila dip!
