It's a new family favorite in Bar Harbor, and I have converted to loving seafood and the raw menu because of the loft! The ahi tuna nachos were a hit all around and a big recommendation to try! We can't wait to go back! The staff and food was amazing, and they even catered to my two children (1yr and 4yrs old).”

“Food was delicious but the service was less than acceptable. The girl that assisted us made us feel more of a bother or inconvenience. There was only 1 coffee made out of 5 machines, not everyone is a fan of dark roast or decaf. And the creamer machine was not working. We had the bacon omelet and blueberry pancakes, delicious. Coffee just meh. Prices are Island priced.”

“It was our first day in Bar Harbor and we chose Galyn’s for dinner. It was delicious. We sat on their front porch overlooking the harbor. The food was great and our waitress was so nice; very pleasant. We had the stuffed crab mushrooms, haddock sandwiches and blueberry crisp-a la mode for dessert. Yummy.”

“We had a mess up on the pizza yesterday but this place came good on it plus more!!! Also the pizza was absolutely delicious a family of five (out of two pizzas) only had two slices left. “Acadia perk makes coffee drinks with plant milks (lots of choices). They have a small shop, so getting drinks to go is probably the best option. I also got the blueberry lavender latte with oat milk and my sister got a chai latte. Both were delicious and hit the spot after some disappointing coffee with breakfast this morning.”

“The vegan options for dinner elsewhere on the island looked pretty uninspiring, so I went here and have no regrets. Had the broccolini and mapo tofu. The mapo tofu was a bit atypical, but delicious, and the greens were also good. Great for takeout, and I'm glad some of the revenue goes back to the community. “I come to the island every autumn. There are countless places to dine. I've been to many, but I've got to the point where Paddys is my go to place for dinner. The staff is excellent. The environment is great. The food is fine. I've never had a bad experience.”

“Mount Desert Island Ice Cream is a must-visit in Bar Harbor! The ice cream here is unbelievably creamy—truly some of the best texture I've had.
The staff was also extremely helpful and patient as we made our selections. We tried several flavors:
• Pumpkin: This flavor was spot-on! It tasted exactly like a slice of delicious pumpkin pie—perfectly spiced and rich.
• Pistachio: This was good and quite unique! It had an enjoyable amount of pistachio flavor, but what made it interesting was the abundance of nut chunks, which added a great texture.
• Cookies and Cream: A solid classic. I'd say the base ice cream itself was okay, but the addition of the cookies certainly made it enjoyable.
• Caramel: The absolute standout! This flavor was phenomenal—rich, buttery, and incredibly satisfying.
Overall, the quality and creaminess of the ice cream, combined with the excellent service, makes this place an easy five stars. Go for the Caramel!”

“Planning a wedding in Maine all the way from West Virginia was overwhelming, and I knew I was going to need help. Tabitha from Luxury Picnics of Acadia was absolutely amazing! She has an incredible vision and the skill to create stunning tablescapes. I had a general idea of what the table would look like, but she went above and beyond—it was even more beautiful than I imagined. She personalized the entire setup, from fresh flowers to custom name cards, and my guests were so impressed. “Janice was recommended to us by our wedding planner for our July 2021 wedding. Her list of flavors is long and believe me, you could spend all day trying various combinations. For our tasting, every single slice we tasted was moist and amazing. We ended up getting a chocolate and yellow cake with peanut butter mouse and chocolate ganache filling. Never have I ever had something so rich, moist, and somehow light at the same time. For our frosting, I strongly dislike any traditional frostings. Janice suggested a whipped cream frosting thankfully. She provided us with a traditional looking 4 tier wedding cake with flowers (made by her out of merengue) cascading down the side. It was gorgeous! My sister who is a chef was impressed with the presentation, knowing that it was a whipped cream frosting which can be harder to work with. And believe me, this was the best cake I have ever had. 6 days later and it has retained all its flavor and moisture. I don’t seen how we will be able to make it to our first wedding anniversary with that in the freezer. I can’t stop thinking about how good the cake is. You will not be disappointed if you get your cake here!”

“The best part about dining at The Terrace Grill is the view across the harbor toward Bar Island. It’s stunning. Next is the service. Our server, Kim, did an excellent job balancing checking on us and giving us space. She paid special attention to details with our order and answered our questions about the harbor and the community. Finally, the food was very good and well presented. My wife had the Blueberry salad with Salmon which was outstanding. I had the fish tacos with grilled haddock and they were quite tasty. The sauce and salsa had excellent flavor. The fish was a little dry. The prices were quite reasonable and I would definitely go back.”

“Slice of Eden made our wedding cupcakes last year and they were fantastic! We had half of them made as chocolate with Swiss buttercream icing and half blueberry lemon cupcakes with whipped cream icing. They were a huge hit and gone so fast! We decided to have them make us a small blueberry lemon cake with whipped cream icing for our anniversary this year since we did not have one to save from our wedding. They knocked it out of the park! I can’t say enough good things about this place!”

“We were looking for an Italian restaurant for dinner one night while in Bar Harbor. When going through the reviews, I wasn't too sure but we went anyway. Best lobster ravioli I've ever had. I only got the small portion and it was a very satisfying amount of food. There was an impressive amount of lobster in it for the price. Overall, it was a great value compared to other Italian restaurants I've been to. We also got the Ricotta and Hot Honey Pizza and it had a great flavor. The pizza is a substantial size and could be shared by two people.”

The donuts were slightly crispy on the outside which is chef’s kiss on experience. Visit here for a wonderful experience with friendly staff. “Yesterday my daughter and I were excited to take my husband to Blaze as we had such a great experience previously. We had our lab/Pyranese mix Tucker Lee with us. Sam, the bartender greeted us and she proceeded to take our orders/make us drinks. We enjoyed our meal and enjoyed the music next door. Tucker Lee Sat at our feet watching his surroundings and waiting for some treats from us. He let out a little bark 3 times. They were quick minor barks looking to go make friends and he quickly settled back down. No one was near us and no one in the surrounding tables even flinched as we were in a dog friendly town/bar or so we thought. Sam decided she no longer wanted us there. With my drink still half full she told us she was going to get our bill together as she was uncomfortable and that we should not have a reactive dog in public. She then went on to tell us she works with animals. This same dog that apparently made her uncomfortable with a quick minor bark was greeted at other restaurants in Maine with open arms, a bowl of water and lots of petting. He was also greeted in Bar Harbor along the walkways and trails by many people wanting to pet and interact with him. The guy with the parrots had Tucker Lee interact with them. It is her loss and now Blaze's loss. I hope she enjoyed the generous tip I left to ensure the others were compensated as it will sadly be the last time we visit Blaze or recommend it. Great food and drinks is one thing but friendly and decent service is an absolute must. You cannot insult your customers especially their beloved pets. Also if you are going to be a dog friendly bar be sure your bartender greets all dogs with water, a treat maybe and an acknowledgement. Tucker Lee got none of those. Only a judgement on his size. Big dogs deserve love too!”

The views of the harbor make dining here even better, and the service is friendly and attentive. It’s a popular spot, so it can get busy definitely get there early. A perfect place to enjoy fresh seafood and soak in the charm of Bar Harbor!”
