Years ago we came here and got a Cubano Panini. We loved it and so when we visited this time we went back for another. The experience was less than ideal. The woman behind the counter first said " let me see if I have what I need". It's a deli,if you don't have it slice off some more! Then she had to go back and ask someone what goes in the sandwich. Then she asked me what kind of bread I wanted. I said "whatever you use for the paninis. She said foccoacia but we only have sourdough. They have a bakery there. I said that was fine. She then asked what kind of sauce I wanted. I said whatever the sandwich comes with. She had to go back and ask again. She told me it was the sirracha sauce and asked me if that was ok. I began to get irritated with her and said I don't know, I got the sandwich before but nobody asked me how to make it. I should have walked away at this point but I was starving and really had fond memories of this sandwich. She proceeded to make the sandwich and hand it to me. As you would expect both sandwiches were awful. One of the ingredients that makes a Cubano sandwich is the pickles. No pickles for us.How do you not even have a list back there telling these employees how to make a sandwich? That's 10 bucks and 30 minutes of my life I wish I had back Never Again.

Always the best price around. I mean seriously if I have to shop y would u go anywhere else, lThe BEST prices around! Why would u go anywhere else. Unless they r not in ur area??

Good prices but horrible wait times to check out. They just don't have adequate staff, and for some reason don't have self-checkout. I avoid the store now except at very quiet times, which is sad because their selection of products is generally good, especially Greek specialties

Every time I go here I always go to the 20 items or less lane because I typically don't get that much anyway, I go here on 6/24 and I decided I didn't want a couple items so I asked if she could remove it she with attitude remove the items and turned on her light so manager could come over and void it. We waited a total of five minutes of her just standing there and watching her managers walk in the opposite direction and say "oh now she's walking in the other direction" so instead of just sitting there, wasting everyone else's time I myself had to go walk up to the manager and tell her what the situation was. This is not the only time this is happened I've gone here, and the same woman checked me out and made a very rude remark towards my friend asking her if she eats all that ice cream her self! I mean come on now that's just absolutely disgusting and uncalled for. I'm sorry but someone who looks like they have down syndrome and works at Market Basket probably shouldn't be so rude to people for no reason. I will be calling Market Basket in filing a complaint on this one because her actions are absolutely disgusting and she clearly takes no pride in her job. I mean she looks like she wants to kill her self at the register every time I see her.CAMRY A BIDDEFORD MARKETBASKET!

I've got to start by saying I ADORE MB, but today I saw, then experienced, the worst customer service I've ever had in a grocery store (and that's going some!). I was in the "fast" check-out line for a change and there were two older, very sweet men in front of me -- the guy paying was being very sweet to the cashier (Cheryl O., from my receipt) and she was totally ignoring him -- in fact, when he mentioned they were stocking up on bread, she said, "That's terrible bread and it's BAD for you!", never looking up -- he couldn't hear her and asked her what she said and she said the same thing. He was $2 short and she was very impatient with him -- he got flustered and gave her $3! With an irritated voice she told him he overpaid and she gave him $1 back -- he thanked her for being honest and she again ignored him! I was next -- she never made eye contact with me, was just obviously irritated and I said it seemed like she was having a rough day? She went on to tell me the medical issues she was having and I empathized, but she STILL was rude to me!!!! At the end, I thanked her and said I hoped the rest of her day improved and she retorted, "it will after 4!". Honestly, this was just appalling behavior. I considered not writing this review, but II think cashiers with attitude need to have some suggestions on how better to SERVE the public!

Market Basket in Biddeford is Top Notch! With a lot of food prices going up with inflation, they have been able to keep their prices on their to-go foods the same. They have a large steak and cheese sandwich that looks like a footlong for $5.99! If you are in a hurry, just call ahead about 30 min prior to pick-up. I have priced out numerous items at competitor grocery stores and Market Basket it is by far the most economical place to go shopping for every item on your list! The store is always clean and the staff is friendly. Their baked items and produce are excellent. Huge fan!!! Keep up the great work.

Extremely disappointed! All week I've been craving a steak and cheese home sub and since louis closed I haven't found one so I was gonna try Market Basket and see how they did.Arrived around 545ish and there were plenty of people waiting to place orders so I looked around and saw the ticket machine that states "anything for sandwiches subs or grilled please take a number " so I did (81) and I waited for the number to get called. I stood near the back so I wouldn't be in anyone's way if they were ordering or shopping. The girl doing the hot chicken bar made eye contact several times while helping people on her section. Eric wandered over to drop stuff in the cart and asks how much longer til mine is ready, at this point I'd stood there 20+ minutes and not a single number had been called but at least 8-10 people had dropped orders and picked up orders. Finally the last person had placed her order (4 sandwiches) that she wanted asap but she was going to go do her shopping and the 2 associates doing the subs and sandwiches step away from the counter and begin a conversation which continued for at least 5 minutes before I finally give up on ordering a steak and cheese. I walk over to the girl at the hot bar with my number and she politely says I'm sorry but I can't take orders for the sandwiches section, I can only do this section. Now there are 4 people in this section, the girl doing the hot chicken section, a older guy making burgers on the grill and then the 2 doing sandwiches and ordering (standing around chatting with each other)I simply said yeah I understand that but since I pulled a number 25+ minutes ago and nobody has bothered to call any numbers I don't understand why you bother having it there because in the whole time I've been here waiting not only did they not call out any numbers but they haven't even bothered to ask if I need anything and they've moved on to chit chatting like there at home instead of working and waiting on customers. Since ordering a sandwich or sub or anything from the grill isn't a option I might as well grab something from you since I've stood waiting for well beyond a half hour now and I got some chicken tenders and left.I had my heart set on a steak and cheese sub and since I didn't get 1 I continued searching for something that might alleviate the craving. I wound up getting the chicken tenders, lobster finger rolls, Hamburger and fries and 1/2 meatball sub from the prepared section with the hot lamp, a spicy tuna roll from the sushi bar and a container of tuna salad and a slice of cheese cake. Eric grabbed a meatloaf dinner and burrito off the cold wall option and then he got the crab Rangoon off the prepared hot lamp and something else I can't remember. We cash out and go home. Eric ate his crab rangoons and enjoyed them while he microwaved his meatloaf dinner (meatloaf mashed and corn) and he enjoyed both but they didn't full him so he wound up snacking on beef jerky he had at home. I tried the lobster roll (just the filling) and it was good, I took a bite from the meatball sub and the meatball itself was good but the bread was cold, even though it was under the heat lights and part of the bread was very hard while the rest was soggy from the sauce. As a diabetic I typically don't eat the bread, just the filling so here I was glad to not bother with this roll. I grabbed a fry off the burger and fries I had gotten and wow they were barely warm but unseasoned had from the taste had sat there for a while. I tried pulling the bun off the burger and it stuck to it so I tried a bite... dry as could be so that was a definite no for me. At this point I was giving up, not only did I not get the steak and cheese I was craving but everything I was trying was either way below standards or not filling so I was gonna eat the cheese cake. Utterly disappointed there too, it was very dry. Usually a slice of cheese cake is moist and creamy and enjoyable but this was like having a mouthful of sand.I'd c

I cannot applaud Market Basket enough. After shopping at Hannaford in Kennebunk for years, after talking to friends about lower prices at Market Basket, I gave it a try. For the past month my grocery bill has been between $30 - $40 a week lower on the same items. Sliced turkey at the deli is $7.49lb, not $10.99lb, Anjou pears are $1.69lb, not $2.49lb, Philadelphia cream cheese large tub is $6.99, not $7.99 and so on. Market Basket is clean, well stocked, plenty of helpers and numerous cashiers anytime I've shopped. They also have baggers who actually know how to bag and listen to requests like "not too heavy ". They will even load your groceries into your car if you ask them! I'm now a loyal customer.

Biddeford Market Basket is awesome! I've been going there a few years now. Great selection, good prices. People who work there can be a grumpy. Why? I don't know. Are they treated bad from management? The cashier on #23 should be avoided. She is never happy and never never never says hello or hi when I say hello. Only one time she talked to me: "You'll have to lift the bags into the basket yourself, my back hurts." Avoid cashier #23. All else, I travel a little extra distance to Market Basket each week, it's really good.

Why is it that every time I go in I can never get any help from any employee? Half the time they're clumped up, blocking aisles, shooting the breeze and don't even say anything if politely ask to get by. Then when I go to get checked out, the cashier ignores me, but says "good morning" to the person behind me, and this has happened more than once. I don't even know why most of those registers haven't been converted to self-checkout yet either, they're a waste of space and a waste of time for people who only have 3 items and don't feel like dealing with rude, surly cashiers.

i grew up with my mother shopping at DeMoulas in Chelmsford Ma. My family moved to Me more than 40 years ago. Of course, I was thrilled when they opened in Biddeford. Originally, it was pretty good. Recently, it has been horrible. The checkout lines are interminable. Our favorite item used to be the Market Basket marinated steak tips. Tonight I bought 3 packs for almost $60. Used to be my new son in laws They are now very expensive. And tough as nails. Inedible. They must have switched to a cheaper grade of steak. I'm done.

Disgusting! No flavor and filled with huge chunks of chicken skin. Who wants to eat chicken skin in a salad!?

Love this location. There are so many options that it is hard to decide on what to order. The staff was very pleasant and the food was awesome. When I am in Biddeford, always specifically to shop at Market Basket; we always order food at Market's Kitchen. And the prices are as good as the store itself. You cannot get a Cheeseburger, French Fries and a 20 oz. Soda anywhere cheaper than here. And it's good. And if you want a comfort food dinner, this is the place to go. Turkey Dinner with all the fixings for less than you would pay for a value meal at a fast food chain. I absolutely love this place.

My Yelp review on Market Basket 5/17/22 I didn't know why I was getting sick for several years I found out it was because market basket food is spoiled before it even leaves the store when you try to return something there they treat you like a criminal. I found mold and Brown on many of their Foods. Their produce spoils on your way home. Their hamburger is brown under the top red meat. You need power tools to cut their steak.

Yes, it has a great selection of goods at competitive prices, BUT, the habit of allowing people to go to the EXPRESS CHECKOUT with many, many items (a FULL SHOPPING CART) is unacceptable! Recently a woman (who does this regularly) had a PACKED cart full of items and went through the checkout ! The cashiers are told to not say anything but how disrespectful is that to the people who abide by the rule and have to wait while this KAREN checks out? We're all paying customers! Do something about this!!! GROW A PAIR!!! You set a rule ENFORCE IT!!!
