Underwhelmed with these sandwiches. Had the meatball sub a couple days ago and then the loaded ham italian today. Not good. Meatball was not toasted and italian had way too much bread left over. Not going to return.

It’s my first time working in Maine and was told to check this place out! I owe that person a sandwich! This lobster roll was amazing! I have not had a properly prepared lobster before this, I see what the rage is all about! They cook this lobster perfectly, and place it on the best roll. Right amount of mayo, lettuce, and topped with warm butter. I have a new favorite sandwich!

It had been a long time since I last got some lobster rolls at the market. Tonight was my grandmother's 80+ birthday and that's what she wanted. The staff was very nice to accommodate her special requests. Thank you and I hope to stop by in good time for another.

I have to admit that I am conflicted about Pool Street Market. Let me start with the inside and then get to the food. The actual store is like a small deli. Very normal and minimalistic spot. Along the wall to your left after entering is the counter where you order your lobster items. The service wasn't the kindest when I visited. It wasn't bad, but it felt unnecessarily intimidating at first. It felt like I was supposed to know exactly what I wanted from the moment I approached the counter. It was not busy at all. I also was a first-time visitor. When I told them it was my first time, they definitely helped me. So they are not unkind or anything like that. The lobster roll itself was pretty good. You can throw in everything, which I highly recommend, and you walk out with a pretty healthy portion of lobster, depending on what you order. It tasted good. I'm no fresh lobster connoisseur so I cannot appraise the quality. However, I did see someone post about how it tasted frozen and based on my experiences, I do wonder if it was. I was so hungry at the moment that I did not stop to think about it. The price was what left me wondering the most. It tasted good, but I wasn't sure if the price was justified - not that lobster is supposed to be reasonably priced. I probably would have been ecstatic if the price somehow came down, but I was just a visitor stopping by, so I do not know the standard rates, quality, etc. Overall, I thought the lobster tasted good and they have a good offering. Would certainly recommend stopping by and trying for yourselves.

Hidden Gem! This place has the biggest, best lobster rolls. Best bang for your buck, their lobster rolls are loaded and no other restaurants prices come close!

We did an internet search for lobster rolls while here in Portland, Maine, and came across a quirky little listing that's basically a convenience store that also sells sandwiches and chowder, including the infamous lobster rolls. It's about 30 minutes from Portland, but we wanted to drive around anyway. And it was well worth it. We both got the Deluxe for $14.95 and it was stuffed with lobster on a wonderful soft roll. I'd go back for sure! Keep in mind it's take out only.

Well.... Gave it a second try today. Three of us ordered lobster rolls. All three were not up to standard. The roll was somewhat stale. The lobster is ONLY claw and knuckles. NO TAIL MEAT IN THESE ROLLS. ( that is why the prices were more reasonable than anywhere else) The lobster tasted like it had been frozen, then thawed out. So cannot recommend..

So disappointed in this lobster roll this year. Not much meat on a large. Barely a whole lobster when the sign says it takes 4.5 lobsters to get a lb of meat.

I love this store. Smiling faces, fair prices and excellent sandwiches. Plus it's location is perfect, 10 minute walk round-trip from my house!

Little hole in the wall store in the town center but the portion size is HUGE (photo is only half of the roll) Overall good lobster roll and really enjoyed the owners
