I've been here for a few times with my wife we sat the two of us in front of the fireplace previously , if you come and bring a large amount of people (6), they will not let you sit at the bar and they will give you an attitude, pushing you to the bar in the back. According to them, this is their house policy large groups go in back. I don't agree with their house policy because if you're spending money, it's money no matter what. I left with my "large" group. Hostess did not need to have an attitude.

The food was pretty terrible. The wings were dry. The pizza was mostly burnt pieces of bread. The chicken sandwich was decent. Our server Tori was super energetic but she was scarce the entire night, we had to ask for our check from the host because we never saw her. I would not dine here again.

Enjoyed happy hour. Great drinks. The wings were perfect. Can't wait to come back for a full meal. Will recommend for company holiday party.

The place itself is very cool. The food was excellent, the drinks just ok. Where they completely lost me was the service. I sat at the bar. There were 3-4 bartenders and it wasn't very busy but I waited at least 15 minutes to even be acknowledged. When my sister joined me about 30 minutes after I arrived, she had the same experience. No one asked if we wanted drink refills and seemingly avoided eye contact. When we were ready to leave, we were asked if it was one check or two. I asked for two. She said "split evenly?" To which I said "just individually, please". I got an obvious eye roll and head shake from the bartender and what I'm assuming was a sideways comment to the other bartender. You came highly recommended so I have to assume it was just an off night ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

Our server Tori was awesome and the only reason we did not give 1 star.My husband and I came in Friday afternoon and did a mix of happy hour and regular menu items. Drink was good and refreshing (their peach special drink). The fish tacos were awful, they smelled terrible like rotten haddock and the tacos themselves had so much slaw on them that even if it were fresh haddock it would’ve been buried. But my husband wouldn’t even try it because of how potent they smelled. I took a bite, but didn’t eat anymore because it was obvious the fish was not fresh. The wings were $10 for 5, but they were super dry and lacked flavor so not much to enjoy there. The pizza was $22 and they skimped on the toppings and it was mostly just crust. I would’ve paid maybe $15 for how little they put on the pizza. The pretzel bites were good, but every other food item was bad. We used to frequent this place for a variety of their items, but don’t think we’ll be going back unless it’s for a drink.

Last few reviews are pretty negative. But, my wife and I had a fantastic time at Batson last night. Had some killer fish tacos and a very good Pecan old fashioned. They were cranking busy but we weren’t in any rush as it was Friday night and we wanted to take our time anyway. So we chilled and enjoyed ourselves. Thank you Batson. Oh and Kayla is a fantastic bartender.

Great atmosphere and drinks, mediocre food, lousy service. "Crispy" brussel sprouts were wet and mushy, the burger had good taste but was missing bacon and had the smallest piece of lettuce I've seen. Took an abnormally long time to get service, no friendly hello, no eye contact. Food just dropped in front of you. We spilled some water and the staff literally tossed a bar towel at us. Expensive for what you get, the next time I want to drop $100 on a meal it definitely won't be here. Pretty disappointed.

Excellent brewery and they have a few locations around Maine. Food is excellent and the majority is made in house. Beers are excellent. The only downside is the wait for service took quite a while on a relatively empty night. Not really a downside as we had plenty of time to socialize amon friends.

Reception was friendly. We waited in the back room for a table. There it was so cold with cold air blowing on your head and neck that you had to wear your jacket. Not greeted or informed we had to order at the bar. When we moved to a table in the front, we waited a long time for service though we did get an apology. We waited also quite some time for more drinks. The poutine (ordered without pork) was very good. The mussels were good with a red sauce. Wings were not that good. The burger was really good and it appeared that most tables ordered the burger. It's quite eclectic and full there with the Christmas decorations. They have a very nice big fireplace. With either more wait staff or more efficiency, the service would have been better. Parking in the front was full but there is a parking lot nearby that charges a whopping $16 for 2 hours. Many other good breweries in the greater Portland area where you don't have to pay (or so much) to park and visit.

Went out on a Saturday night before New Years with a friend. We got last minute reservations and were super excited to try this place after seeing the photos and menu online. The food was great and the cocktails were good, and the atmosphere was amazing. It was decorated for Christmas and was full of happy customers, and it’s the reason this restaurant has four stars. We unfortunately didn’t have a great experience with the service here. It was really busy and I understand having to wait longer to get waited on, and we were having a good time so that alone wouldn’t be a problem. But while we were seated at the bar, we were watching employees check their phones while people were waiting on refills, and the employees seemed to go out of their way not to make eye contact. When we did get the attention of one of the girls behind the bar, she seemed almost annoyed with us and was very short with her interactions. Overall a great dinner out with a friend, but could have been much better with better service. Hopefully it was a fluke and she was just having a bad night, but I would recommend table seating to try to avoid a similar situation

Nice atmosphere, but expensive drinks for mostly ice. We had 3 drinks each and 4 bathroom trips total before our pizza came out 1.5 hrs later…. Still waiting. Waitress barely acknowledged us, but had plenty of time to be on her phone behind the bar ignoring customers. Was excited to try this restaurant… but Probably wouldn’t come

Great chill bar with games. It was decorated for Christmas and was a great spot to hangout with some girlfriends!
