Beautiful and busy... just the way it should be!I thought that the line was surprisingly quick in its progression. Usually when I walk into a place and see half a dozen children pointing to a menu above their heads while surrendering to their overwhelming ADD... I turn around and come back later. In this case, I hardly made up my mind before the Coastal Creamery staff worked through each child's order. The smell of fresh baked cookies was hard to walk away from as well.My only knock on this ice cream shop is that for my personal preference the ice cream's texture was a little to "icey" and not enough "creamy". But the flavors were prevalent throughout and I think if you're looking for a good ice cream pitstop while on Commercial Street in Portland, your search needs to begin and end with Coastal Creamery!!

Visited this wonderful place on a trip from Las Vegas. I don't eat a lot of sugar anymore but when your wife wants ice cream on vacation, you just order. I tried the Maine Tracks and the Maine blueberry...because I am a visitor. The tracks was great but the blueberry was just amazing. The service was fast. The location was clean even with a steady flow of customers, in November. This place needs to franchise and share its greatness with more people.

Oh mama! Yummy! Giant cookies filled with homemade ice cream for $8.00. We split a chocolate chip cookie sandwich with cookie dough in the middle. Really tasty. The only negative in our visit tonight is the extremely rude teenager working. Rotten attitude, couldn't be bothered to leave her phone or finish our transaction before racing back to it. There was a lovely family checking flavors and they stepped aside so we could order as they were still reviewing flavors and little Miss attitude purposefully yelled over to them to ask if they were ready to order instead of helping us. If she had been paying attention she would have seen the interaction with the father who had already ushered us in front of them to order. BTW: we were the only 5 people in the entire store) I'm old and not going to deal with crappy attitudes from anyone any longer, I would love to support this local business but as long as she is still working there I would never step foot inside again. Good luck!

Went to Coastal Creamery after dinner at Luke's lobster and what a perfect dessert!!! I had an ice cream sandwich and she had a the homemade coastal cookie cake. Perfect addition to Portland

This is some delicious ice cream and the story about the couple who opened it, is beautiful. Having met and later married in 2011 they where committed to each other and ice cream. This shop opened in 2023 and I would highly recommend it!

We got dessert after our dinner and tried the Coastal Creamery staff was very nice the portions are very generous I had a scoop of Maine Tracks and a scoop of peanut butter fudge and as you can see it's spilling over the cup. The Maine Tracks ice cream has huge chunks of Reese's peanut butter cups in it. It was very filling.

Was craving ice cream after dinner so I happened to pass by this place. Glad I stopped by and got ice cream coz it hit the spot. They don't have extensive flavor choices, but what I had (coconut almond chip) was really good. There's no seating inside, people were just standing inside, eating their ice cream.

Coastal Creamery is nestled in Portland downtown and offers a variety of ice cream flavors. The ice cream they sell is from Shain's of Maine, so they don't make their own ice cream. If they did, then I would give them an extra star. However, Coastal Creamery does make their cookies in house, so ordering an ice cream cookie sandwich is not a bad option! As far as the ice cream, I had Maine Blueberry, and I loved how the sweetness level was just right. The blueberries were frozen though, and I personally would rather but not into frozen fruit in my ice cream. Overall a decent place to satisfy your sweet tooth!

Patty and I went for ice cream the other day we went down to this place got a free parking after 6 o'clock. I got Whoopie pie in a waffle cone small and my wife got coconut in a dish. Both Ice Cream's were awesome. The girls do a great job here. Service is fast and courteous. It's really clean definitely five stars. Thank you.
