I went the morning after power across the city went out because nothing in south Portland was open (not even the traffic lights worked!) It was extremely crowded and they were out of some of the food. There are probably about 18 stools and 2 tables and every one was taken. My drip coffee was tasty, but almost $4. They have a lot of charging ports and coat/purse hangers under the counter which rocks! Employees were friendly, it was clean, there's a little shop in the back but I didn't explore. Cute place

Amazing coffee. Amazing breakfast sandwich. Curtailed menu, focused idea. Killing it!

My recent visit to Smalls Café left much to be desired. Firstly, the service was rather disappointing as the person working seemed quite indifferent. It was evident that they were preoccupied, perhaps due to having a friend over, as they engaged in loud and distracting chatter while neglecting their duties. The café had run out of most of their menu options, limiting choices for customers like myself. Even something as basic as milk for coffee had only two options available, which was rather underwhelming. We also waited for a while to get our drinks.

Simple dishes, fresh ingredients, great flavors, and one of the best cappuccinos i've ever had. Friendly staff too! I will absolutely be coming back here, it's wonderful all around.

Coffee is a 10/10. The place is small and cozy, with a little shop for you to peruse while you wait for food & coffee. If it's busy be aware of your surroundings, try not accidentally bump into anything in the bustling pathways.

The best espresso tonic I have ever had...I'm still thinking about it a day later. The market is adorable, too. Great spot!

Oh man the food here blew my mind for a quaint little breakfast place. They also have a super cute shop that sells local items.

Confused as to what's going on here. Tried going 3 times. zilch.1st time-- no seats for the three of us. one person taking up the entire left side bench. one person taking up the entire right side bench. multiple single open bar stools...? So we left. 2nd time-- "ran out" of both the oysters and the ingredients for the mocktails we ordered. so we left. 3rd time-- no actual food is served any more? just chips and almonds. so we left. an updated website, or a listed phone number could have avoided at least two of these situations. tried to give them money, tried to like it. after three times though?

Super cute shop in the back of the cafe. Really friendly staff. The egg on the breakfast sandwich was so fluffy, really delicious overall. They also had an amazing lemon curd croissant. Loved hanging out there.

THE CUTEST coffee shop. Delicious delicious drinks and breakfast - we got the breakfast sandy and ricotta toast — and they have gluten free! Moan worthy good. The women at the cashier were soooooo kind and helpful especially bc we showed up wearing wigs! They also have cute little gifts and snacks in the shop. And everything is decorated so cutely. Good spot to work and chill !!!!

I have been here a few times, either solo or in a pair.Atmosphere: This place is your classic neighborhood corner cafe. Casual, "locals" aesthetic, cutesy store in the back with home goods, small decor, and cards. I could 100% see myself coming by for mid-day snacks or coffee if I lived around here!Food/Drink: They have great sandwiches and espresso options and offer a slightly bigger menu for afternoon/evening, including $1 oysters every afternoon! A great place to sit at the bar with a glass of wine or a cocktail while enjoying some finger foods. Would not recommend trying to eat a full, hearty meal here.Service: Very friendly locals. Can watch them prepare the food and drinks.Parking: There is some street parking in the area, including a street nearby the Harbor View Memorial Park where there is 2 hour free parking. Reeeeally wish I lived closer to simply walk over.I would strongly recommend stopping this low-key neighborhood shop for a snack and beverage - day or night! I will certainly be back.
