“The food is far better than expected! I had whitefish Parmesan and it was awesome! We dined on pizza a few nights before, and it was one of the best ever! Mike is the host and manager and he adds to the atmosphere. Prices are fair and reasonable, service is awesome and the atmosphere both inside and out is like a small European bistro. Love this place!!“
“Great tasting pizza, but need to have a special on two pizza's with two toppings with breadsticks. Only offer a Medium Pizza with three toppings and cheesy breadsticks for about $20. “One of our favorite places at Shanty Creek! Cozy atmosphere, friendly service and clientele. All season bar with an outside fire pit for skiers and cooler weather. Nightly entertainment available throughout most prime season times. Excellent location! Good food!“

Went in for pizza but had a larger group so went the bistro route for the additional seating options. Everyone loved the food and I had the ribs which were perfectly cooked with a delicious barbecue sauce. Just moved to the area and this will likely be our local date night spot.“
“My partner and I needed a place to stay while we were doing an art show in Charlevoix. We’d never been to Michigan before. The Blue Pelican exceeded every expectation we had and so much more. The room we stayed in was lovely- soft bed and pillows, everything was very clean, and the room was the perfect warmth for the time of year.We ended up eating at the restaurant downstairs for dinner two of the nights, and then breakfast on our last day. ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS every time. The portion sizes were incredibly generous. The first night was fish and chips- the fish was battered beautifully and the chips had the most flavorful seasoning. The second night we got the Hawaiian pizza and fried pickles- again, incredible batter for the pickles and the pizza was that melty, cheesy perfection. And lastly, the biscuits and gravy- out of this world. So good. The sausage was flavorful and peppered just the right amount. The biscuits were soft and fluffy.The staff is what really blew us away. Everyone was so kind and attentive and generous. Our server Alix was incredible- even told us to take our time when we ordered late on Saturday night. AND gave us some fantastic local coffee shop recommendations. I saw and heard the manger Trisha compliment and thank every single one of the employees as the night wore down.Perfect stay, and I cannot recommend this inn and restaurant highly enough!“
“This was our first time there. We had a party of 12. They were short-staffed this day because four people called off. However they still managed to get us seated, the service was still outstanding, even though we had to wait about an hour for our food. The food itself that everyone had was outstanding. I would highly recommend this place and would absolutely return again.“
“The staff is always friendly and the food is the best from the BBQ pulled pork egg rolls to the pizza and burgers. If you do the breakfast .The breakfast burrito with chorizo with Hollandaise sauce is off the hook sooo good. And don't forget a side of Cajun bacon.“
“My family and I had a wonderful time at torch lake cafe. The food was amazing, we were very happy with all of our selections. Our service was wonderful, I can’t remember our servers name but she did a great job. The entertainment was also awesome! The owner of the restaurant is the entertainment, I thought that was very cool. My sister has a 3 year old and he was dancing away in the front row.We will return to try more of the menu. There are limited restaurant options in this area, and it’s nice to know that this place is a total stand out.“
“Been here both just with my husband and tonight with a large group and they have always been excellent with the food and service. Very accommodating when available and the food is very good. Highly recommend the brisket but it's hard to go wrong! The "trash can" nachos are so much fun, and delicious!! The vibe is chill, but not trashy. Definitely a sports bar with what's on TV and the decor but anyone can have a great time. Good for families, couples or grabbing a drink while catching a game yourself. Will definitely be back!!“
