“What a fun find in Berkley! No nonsense taco joint with simple food done fantastic. Chicken, steak, and pork tacos were all fabulous in their own way. Excellent fresh salsas and wonderful margaritas. We just got back from a week in Cabo. The only thing missing from Casa Amado was the ocean view ? - although the dining area is quite nice. “This is my go to place for Mexican food in Birmingham. Next to Market Northend, smaller and also accessible when you have no reservations elsewhere. The servers are incredible, the drinks they come up with are always great - especially if you love Mezcal.I typically order the “Big Mac” Slider special, ceviche, or the Fajita Bowl. Add it to the list of awesome authentic tacos and more.Stopped in for a quick bite during lunchtime and everything was on point. The quesadillas were some of the best we have ever had, the cheese was grilled on a griddle and they were packed full of meat. We tried the steak and steak/sausage. Added on a couple of amazing al pastor tacos.Overall the marinades for the meat really made this place stand out. Excellent tomatillo salsa along with pico. And the prices are very reasonable. “I can't say enough good things about this establishment. From the food to the drinks and service everything was absolutely outstanding. When they saw my wife was pregnant they went above and beyond for us to get us seated as possible and the servers work as a team so somebody is always there to check on you. “Stopped and placed a carry out and they had a restaurant full of guests (2 were parties in the banquet area). Went to the store and came back and food was ready and the staff were exceptional and my dinty moore and the lemon rice soup were excellent! The other sandwiches are similarly priced.Only had to wait a couple minutes for my sandwich to be made.It was mildly flavored, the Greek/Italian dressing & feta really the only flavor involved. No olives, lots of iceberg and some tomato accompanied the chicken, as well. A touch dry, too.Plenty of seating if you want to stay.
