We just stopped by there with my husband to watch a UEFA champions league soccer game which is quite far from American interest; but everybody was happy to put the game for us and discuss with us the whole time. Mikkie even paid us a round of beers. We had a lovely time and a great local experience ! Highly recommended !”

“Went to Bigpowderhorn for skiing for a day. After a tiring session, enjoyed a really good luch and a break time here. I ordered cruchy carnita pork sandwich, it was perfectly cooked melting meat and well seasoned. They also have two KBC beers on tap, so being from Houghton that's always a good thing!”

“Quite possibly the very best pastys in the Western half of the U.P. They have a nice selection of pastys (Traditional - highly recommended!) and breakfast pastys, too. Priced right, usually a good inventory of frozen pastys in stock (for the road trip) and always a friendly smile from the servers there. A couple of tables and a "pasty bar" if you're staying to eat a fresh one... the crusts are perfection - precisely what you'd expect from the best bakery within 50 miles or better. Don't forget to grab some bread, rolls, cookies and sweet rolls before you head for the door. I've never had anything there that didn't make me wonder why I'm not back there weekly!! It always looks dark from outside - be sure to check the door.”
