“Hidden gem—almost impossible to see the name of this little restaurant, so it’s easy to miss! But what a fun surprise when you do find it. Great drinks—I tried the Hibiscus Margarita, my hubby had the classic. Very tasty! The food had great authentic flavor and was very reasonably priced for Birmingham. I had the shrimp taco and didn’t love how thick the soft shell was, but the flavor was delicious and the sauce with the shrimp was yummy. My hubby and daughter loved their dishes. He got a steak special and she got the Biria dish.
The coconut cake and churro cheese cake dessert were fabulous and worth the calories!
Service was great, friendly and helpful!

“I stop by Hunter house anytime I am in the area. They have the best burgers, onion rings fries you can look over the menu inside and not one thing in there I would not recommend trying. That is my go to spot when I want a top of the line fresh burger yes can be busy, But it’s definitely worth the wait. I have never gotten my order wrong or the wrong order for that matter. The staff is good. They are friendly, funny great sense of humor. I’ve been going there for years and I’ll still keep going. It’s a great place. If you want something from outside of the ordinary, it’s grilled and deep fried right there. You can either call ahead and have your order done or you can walk right in you can dine in or you can order a carryout right from the inside. It’s a local treasure for Birmingham, Royal Oak, Southfield, and Clawson, Michigan”

I'm glad I did! the baristas recommended a brown sugar latte with pistachio milk and that's what I got, iced. It was phenomenal. Great price point for the quality of the product. “This review is for the Royal Oak Roast only. The road is full of as*holes , the world going to sh*t more and more. The people in charge care not at all and we are on a very possible path to doom. Why not stop in at Royal Oak Roast? It’s a comfy place with great people watching. The coffee is wonderful and refills are a dollar. So many different coffee choices in all styles, including espresso over over Weiss vanilla ice cream!!! The kitchen, yes I said kitchen has scrumptious food that is presented beautifully with the seasonal selections. All this sound good? Well that’s not even the best part. It’s the staff. It’s a varied collection of kind, hard working people that make you feel welcomed and are always working hard to get your order out to you. Leave the stress behind and relax here with friends and future friends. You will be glad you came”

“Shish Kebab Express has become my go-to spot for lunch, whether I’m ordering just for myself or sharing with coworkers. I usually order from there once a week. Their Chicken Almond Rice Salad, Chicken Ghallaba Sandwich, and Oregano Chicken are my favorites—every bite is consistently delicious and full of flavor.

The portions are always generous, and the value for the price is unbeatable. One of the things I truly appreciate is that they deliver to local businesses in the area, which makes it so convenient during a busy workday. It’s such a relief to have a reliable option for fresh, high-quality Middle Eastern food without needing to step away from work.”

“We love this place for a quick coffee and ice cream date, however, not a fan of the 7 AM text messages so I had to unsubscribe. It might be a good idea to align your texting practices with TCPA regulations which generally restrict messages to after 8 a.m and before 9pm. I can’t be the only one that doesn’t prefer a 7:40 AM text on a Saturday morning about cupcakes 😀”

“Very fancy and expensive restaurant. One of the few restaurants in metro Detroit (and likely the whole of Michigan) that serves Baked Alaska. They do not flame it in front of you nor does it come with sparklers like some restaurants may do. Still it was delicious. Jamie was a great waitress, friendly and in a good mood. There is no parking lot for Forrest, however after 5:30 pm and on weekends you can use the AAA Birmingham parking lot which is right next door. Very nice interior. The water glasses are small. There is a candle at the table.”

“Primo’s is my pizza sanctuary. My go-to for the past five years—like clockwork, once a week, round pizza, two toppings: pepperoni and their spicy sausage. The sausage has just enough kick to remind you that yes, flavor still exists in this world. I get it well done, because I like my crust like I like my sarcasm: crispy and dependable.

The staff? Legendary. At this point, they know me so well I think I’m just one order away from being invited to their family reunion. Last Friday (6/13/25), I called in and they didn’t even ask for my name or number. They just said, “Got it.” I felt like I’d been knighted by the Pizza Council.

The toppings? Magical. The pepperoni curls into those crispy little flavor chalices. The ham is salty but not overbearing—like a lovable old man yelling at clouds. And the spicy sausage doesn’t just sit there—it participates. It contributes. It’s the MVP of the slice.

Now the crust—dear reader, the crust. That glorious middle ground between crunchy and chewy. You get it well done and there’s zero flop to the undercarriage. It stands strong like it’s carrying the hopes and dreams of every pizza lover who came before.

And listen—they sell ice cream AND booze. That’s not a pizza place. That’s a full-service emotional support center.

The staff is always polite, even when they’re slammed and juggling twelve orders at once. Never once have they made me feel like my consistent, slightly obsessive loyalty was anything less than appreciated.

As long as Primo’s exists and I live within pizza-scent range, they’ve got my business.”

“On Set. 19, I brought my 96-yr-old mom here for a drink and hors d'oeuvres. I had sent a note on the online reservation form that we would appreciate a quiet table. The receptionist had knowledge of the request without my saying anything, and immediately showed me three locations she thought would suit. I wish I had gotten her name, for management to commend her. (We arrived at 5:15, which should help you know to whom I refer.) We sat in a booth, and our server, Usama, made our nearly 3-hr (!) visit truly joyful and perfect! Again, management - please take note. We agreed that he was the best waiter either of us have ever had - attentive, fun and funny, and going the extra mile in tailoring our drinks to our (sweet-tooth!) tastes, and making us feel welcome and special. This was likely my mom's final "fancy" outing, and I am so grateful to Usama for making it perfect. Kudos also to the chefs. Our 3 dishes were superb - beef tips, shrimp, hummus.”

“FIVE STAR RATING: We cannot praise Hyde Park Prime Steakhouse enough! We were seated at a cozy table and were greeted with the utmost, warm and friendly service. Our server, Sean, was amazing! He pointed out the menu’s recommendations, didn’t rush us, and personalized the order of when we’d like our choices brought out to the table. Every dish we ordered from appetizers to the complimentary Birthday dessert, was tremendous! We reserved a standard table in one of their dining rooms. However, even the bar area with high top tables would not disappoint. Don’t hesitate to make this a place to experience. They offer a great menu of salads, seafood, steaks, and be sure to ask about specials. They offer a vast wine menu and specialty drinks. We WILL be back! There is valet parking available if you’d choose that option.”
