Small but comfortable. Was very busy but the staff was well equipped to handle the load. Food was tasty and well presented.

Excellent Italian food. Be sure to call and make reservations well in advance as they are always busy. Great wine selections as well. Eggplant antipasti, pasta, and affogato were our favorites.

The dining experience was stellar!!! All of the staff were welcoming and attentive - Manager, Hostess, Server, Kitchen Staff - all of them!!! The food...whoa...the appetizers, pasta dishes and filet entree melted in my mouth...each and every dish!!! The portions are generous...I have a full belly plus leftovers!!! If you haven't already been, get yourself over there ASAP!!!

Quiet, understated and classy restaurant. Very popular by an upscale crowd. The food is impeccable! Everything that was brought to the table was delicious! We had gnocchi appetizers (highly recommended), calamari in a red seafood broth, pork chop, lamb chops and a cod seafood special. All were fantastic! Tiramisu and chocolate cheesecake finished it off. Not for the faint of heart with the wallet but well worth it.

The staff was absolutely fantastic when our friend had an emergency health incident here last week. Thank you to all of you. We are sorry to have missed our meal of the best Italian food in the area. We'll be back soon.

This is one of my top 3 places to dine, ever. Remember to call and reserve a table or try your luck at the bar early. They are always busy and for good reason! The food is impeccable. Even the small dishes (antipasti) are wonderful. Two favorites; in the colder months lamb ragu or lamb shank, rich and satisfying. Warmer months the Sea Bass. The Sea Bass we had was in a lemon broth with tiny pea shoots. It was so delicate, buttery texture and cooked to perfection. Have never had Sea Bass as good anywhere. Service is top notch. The staff will go above and beyond to be sure your having a good experience. Owners will visit you too. Being that it is across from our local premier hotel, be ready to get surprise visits from celebrities in town or local celebs. See you soon to share a bottle of cake bread and the chef's stop evening special. You cannot go wrong choosing this local favorite to dine.

This is a great place to dine in downtown Birmingham. The food is always good and the waiters are extremely attentive. The only issue I have is that the restaurant is very small and tables are close together.

There are plenty to. so to keep it short. Chrissy at the bar is the best bartender you'll ever meet.

This place has great food and is great for any occasion or special event. Our server Colin was great and had some very good recommendations for food. I asked if they had any pasta with a vodka based sauce and he mentioned they can put something together, and it was very good. The starters were okay, but the main courses were all great. All their pastas are good, and their chicken piccata is by far one of the best I’ve ever had. Besides the place being very small and everyone sitting next to each other, the food makes up for it and so does the service. I’ll definitely come again.Parking: Street parking free after 9/10 PM

Unfortunately our night was ruined by the server named Mary. From the beginning I detected a bad attitude. Asked her to clear the extra setting as there were only three of us and it never happened. The reservation was made for three. We knew in advance that we had to finish our meal at seven as they had another reservation for our table at that time. We were finishing coffee at 6:45 pm and never got a second cup as Mary decide to come over to rush us. The party of two that had the reservation at seven had come in early and were staring at our table, which is totally their problem.I routinely leave 30% for a tip, that night it was 20% and it should have been less.Enjoy Bella Piatti, but avoid Mary.

The special was a sardine pasta. Unusually good: sweet and savory, crunchy and smooth. Wonderful.
