“For my 65th birthday and my soon to be dauhter-in, laws 25 birthday we celebrated at J. Baldwins! The food was excellent. Soooo good, I've never had better food. I even ordered 2 other meals and dessert to take home! I recommend this restaurant as a 20 on a 1 - 10 scale it was that yummy! 5 stars!”

“Went here for our 11th anniversary. Was recommended here many times. We had the tableside tomahawk for 2. Sliced by the tableside by the manager and plated as well tableside. When i tell you, this steak was absolutely PHENOMENAL! Seared to perfection, excellently cooked, and very conservatively seasoned to bring out of every flavor of the steak. The house salad and dressing is unlike any around, leaving you wanting more. Our waiter (Joe) i believe was absolutely stunning. He caters like no other, but also lets you enjoy your meal, without interupting and still servicing. If i could rate higher, i absolutely would. I will DEFINITELY be back here. Well done The Brewery.”

“My husband and I love going to Stray Cat Lounge for date nights—we’ve been there countless times! The live music is always so much fun, with a great variety of styles. They have an excellent drink selection, and I especially love ordering a chocolate martini from Nick, the bartender, who makes fantastic drinks. We also enjoy smoking cigars while we’re there.

The atmosphere is lively and fun, with cool cat-themed decorations that give the lounge a unique vibe. Whether it’s a date night or a night out with friends, I highly recommend Stray Cat Lounge!”

I got the salmon bowl, spicy tuna roll, shrimp tempura roll, chicken teriyaki roll and some roe. Everything was delicious! The rice was so fresh and yummy and sticky not old and hard and cold. It was perfect.”

Overall, you get a lot of bang for your buck here…$25 got us a large pizza, a salad, and a good sized bread with garlic sauce. I liked the pizza! Crust was solid, pepperoni was good, nothing too crazy but on the nail for what we needed. The bread and garlic sauce were my fav,no question about that. Wouldn’t say it’s my go-to Friday night spot, but I’d come back once a month or so. Solid find. Staff was friendly & quick!”

“First, let me say that if you have not been to Gnocchi Italian, you absolutely MUST GO! This place is amazing. A 10 out of 10! I've been to Italy several times, and Gnocchi Italian serves the absolute best gnocchi that I have ever tasted — even better than 80% of the restaurants in Rome. Everything is made from scratch; the gnocchi is made from ricotta, giving it an incredibly creamy and rich flavor. There are 45 varieties of gnocchi! I had the seafood gnocchi (scallops and jumbo shrimp in lobster sauce served over gnocchi). My companion ordered a breast of chicken over gnocchi smothered in alfredo sauce and topped with Muenster cheese. The proprietor, Chef Jeff, has run this place 8 years, and he is incredibly talented. Of course, they do serve other traditional Italian dishes besides gnocchi. They're all wonderful, from the spaghetti to the lasagna to the meatballs to the veal — everything is done to perfection. The portions are generous. Also, they have excellent red wines which are moderately priced. We ordered a bottle of Merlot. Finally, you will be amazed at their special house creamy garlic salad dressing, and.... the most delicious cream of wild mushroom soup I have ever tasted! If you see it on the menu you must order it, it was out-of-this-world delicious. Our thanks to Chef Jeff, for treating us to an amazing dining experience. You bet we will be back very soon!”

“For a family restaurant, Tommy's Diner (name replaced the original one, Greek Pantheon) is wonderful. The staff is so friendly, accommodating, and welcoming. My favorite thing to eat are the wings. They are so meaty, well seasoned, and I'm not sure how they are cooked but they are moist and delicious unlike other places who serve scrawny wings or overcook them.

Their Italian wedding soup is also a favorite of mine.

Prices are decent, never have to wait for a table in their large dining room and they have one heck-of-a- carry out business too!”

“Cheryl's Diggity Dogs is as American as it gets located in front of Lowe's, the biggest store in a strip mall on a section of Gratiot lined on either side with car dealerships. The hotdogs or polish sausages are great and you can get a pop and bag of chips for not much extra. One of my favorite places for a snack on my way home from work. Cheryl is very friendly, I'm not sure the name of the other employee but she is also nice. My only complaint is that the hours seem slightly irregular”

“I've had Christmas Eve dinner at my house for 39 years. 27-35 guests each year. I had rolls and white bread and no one touched them. This year I got Russo Rye bread. Went through 3 loads and 8 people want to know where I got it. I would have to say it over.”

“I've ordered carry-out from May Hong before and it's always been amazing. It's ready when I've walked through the door and piping hot, plus tasty. A personal favorite is the Sesame Chicken. Egg rolls are also delicious!

However, a friend and I decided to dine in two weekends ago. There may have been a rush before us that had just left, but there was only a single clean table available, and one staff person handling all the orders and cleaning.

We ordered, and I waited half an hour--no exaggeration--for a bubble tea. I decided to try something new that night, the honey chicken. No real taste of honey to be found. Stick with the Sesame or Sweet & Sour Chicken since you can't go wrong with those.

Also, the booths? A group of people left behind me and new people came in. Every time someone moves behind you, you can feel it and it's quite jarring when you're trying to eat.

The staff person we dealt with tried her hardest, and she was very, very nice, just severely overworked.

May Hong is still worth ordering from for the food, but keep it to carry-out. Dining in isn't the best experience.”
