Obsessed with this place. Truly an ambiance unlike anything else you can get in the city. So proud that a place like this still exists downtown. Charles at the door is an absolute G, and Mr. D'Mongo is such a great owner. He's truly proud of the bar and does it all to greet and thank patrons. It was like meeting living legend. It's the kind of care that you can't find at any other corporate hospitality run bar downtown. Servers are amazing and live music is unreal. Can't even explain in words how great this place is. Need to see it to believe it.

D'Mongo's is an institution in Detroit. This speakeasy has survived all of Detroit's ups and downs. They have live music and their drinks are great - their bee's knees is really good. The grilled cheese is the perfect toast with a great cheese pull. Just a great spot to take in some Detroit Culture with photos and mafia contracts and art on the walls - but try to get there a bit early so that you can grab a table!

We stopped in for a drink. Neat place they had live music. It’s kinda of a dark and hipster. Definitely a place you can sit and chill. Had a 1439 with Faygo it was good.

This place is my home away from home. I haven't lived in Detroit in almost 20 years, but I still love all the memories and friendships I created in this place. It's the one place I make it a point to visit every time I'm in the D. Great music, fantastic service, and always a good time. If you haven't visited yet, make it a point to drop in.

First off. Our group had a great time at d'Mongo's last night. Really enjoyed Carl and the band. However, be forwarned that the 1 check per table does not include any kind of a breakdown, or itemization of what you were charged for!!! You will only be given a small sheet of paper with a total on it!!! When I questioned it, and asked for the breakdown, the server brought me over a small note pad with a bunch of scribble all over it, which no one could read or make sense of with NO prices. Not good business at all. Our bill of $144.00 was way to high for what we ordered. I could not find any prices on the tableside menu as well. Be warned...you will be charged for what ever they feel like charging you for, at a price of whatever they feel is appropriate that night. I guess I learned a lesson here. IF I ever come back I will need to pay cash as each round is served. OR come with rich friends that don't give a s#*t!

I like this dive/ speakeasy, I really wish there were jazz bars downtown to sit and relax at. They had a great band on that night, however, no old 40s-60s music or jazz.

Love this place and the ambiance. It is decorated as a rustic nostalgic place with celebrities all over the walls. I loved the live music and would go back anytime.
