Obsessed with this place. Truly an ambiance unlike anything else you can get in the city. So proud that a place like this still exists downtown. Charles at the door is an absolute G, and Mr. D'Mongo is such a great owner. He's truly proud of the bar and does it all to greet and thank patrons. It was like meeting living legend. D'Mongo's is an institution in Detroit. This speakeasy has survived all of Detroit's ups and downs. They have live music and their drinks are great - their bee's knees is really good. The grilled cheese is the perfect toast with a great cheese pull. Just a great spot to take in some Detroit Culture with photos and mafia contracts and art on the walls - but try to get there a bit early so that you can grab a table!

This place is my home away from home. I haven't lived in Detroit in almost 20 years, but I still love all the memories and friendships I created in this place. It's the one place I make it a point to visit every time I'm in the D. Great music, fantastic service, and always a good time. If you haven't visited yet, make it a point to drop in.
