A bunch of women from my church and I went here for lunch on a Saturday. We were the only ones there...for about five minutes. And then BAM! sooooo many people came to enjoy Detroit Soul's food. At the helm that day was Val, a vivacious, lovely woman, who took very good care of us. I'm a vegetarian, so I ordered the Four Sides option for about $15. I had the yummy yams, fries, coleslaw, and the mac and cheese. That mac and cheese, I'm embarrassed to say, beats mine hands down....read full review
The service was great. A Very friendly and clean environment. A very decent place to eat in. everything is new. The food is delicious! I will definitely recommend this to others. In fact, I already have.

A group of us arrived for lunch, not knowing that this 8 Mile location is primarily carryout. Mz. Val was unphased, welcoming us with open arms, and we enjoyed a lovely meal together, seated at tables in the carryout waiting area. I ordered the perch, collard greens, and black eyed peas. Yummy. Go visit Mz. Val and her crew at Detroit Soul on 8 Mile!
