I was in this store 8/3 to pick up an online order which i waited an hour for after i ordered. I was told it was in the oven when it clearly was not. Not to mention that i am 8 months pregnant. The cashier wrote my name in a book for my next meal to be free. I called to order my free meal on 8/6 to be told that the wait would be the same if i ordered (over an hour). I guess i thought this would be more of a priority. The woman on the phone today was extremely rude and didn’t care. I will not be back here to eat. Please train your employees to be respectful of customers.

I initiated and completed an online order at approx. 11:04am. Upon arrival at the store I was advised at approx. 11:28am that my order (1 chicken big and farmhouse salad) would be ready in a couple of minutes. At approx. 11:30am another Potbelly employee asked what I was waiting for. I advised her I was waiting on an online order. As I spoke with my counterpart regarding the experience and the lack of trust in ordering online versus waiting in line someone (the manager Rhonda) spoke over the register and a customer to address our conversation. We realized that the person was addressing us even though we were speaking to each other. I approached the register as the potbelly worker walked away, she returned and I asked for a manager. She then advised she was the manager, Rhonda. I asked her to stand away from the register so we could speak privately. I expressed that I was speaking to my counterpart and at no moment did she need to address either one of us. We gave no indication that we were speaking to her and that she should never address a customer who isn't addressing you. She wanted to interrupt me as I was speaking and had to advise not too. She apologized and I advised the conversation was over. THIS SHOULD NEVER HAPPEN! No manager should approach, address or communicate with a customer in a negative/smug manner who has not addressed them. It is UNPROFESSIONAL and TRIGGERING. I will no longer frequent this potbelly and I will make sure that I advise others not to either. I will be cascading this email to all the appropriate parties within the organization and will make sure to include reviews (that I never do) to ensure it is vocalized. I did leave a voicemail (on the customer service # 312-951-0600) and I want whoever is reading this to ask yourself "if a board member/district manager heard this story would they approve?" In addition, if a potbelly member is speaking to customers in this manner, how is she speaking to other staff? I thank God I do not work a organization who hires and maintains staff like Rhonda.
