Wonderful ambience, employees and food. When I tell you every bite was delicious, every bite of food was delicious. After eating I wanted to compliment the chef. I was an original customer of the Grandriver location years ago. They started out great then it went down hill over the years, I believe he was shut down. When I heard he had moved to Southfield and downtown I was upset thinking they couldn't keep good food in the neighborhood where they made a lot of our money, his dad owned meat market across the street. Steve's Soul Food at 1440 Franklin Street in Detroit's Warehouse District, just a couple blocks from the River, is finally back open as of August 20, 2023. I'd prefer 2-3 visits before providing an opinion, but it's definitely worth a try. According to staff, hours are 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Wednesday thru Sunday.
