So happy that they opened a location here. Used to drive 35 minutes each way just to visit their location in Birmingham. Lived in the PNW for half my life, working in fine dining and food service for about half of that time. Since returning to the Midwest I've been mostly disappointed in the quality of food in my hometown. Places like Cannelle are the exception. No compromise exquisite pastries, desserts and baked goods.
When I stepped inside, I felt like I was in a French cafe; the atmosphere was simple yet authentic, with French music playing in the background and the sweet smell of baked goods in the air, and it was very clean.This was my first visit, so I ordered something simple: a cinnamon roll croissant with a caramel latte. The people working behind the counter were very helpful. All the baked goods looked fresh and excellent. From the looks of it, the people sitting down were enjoying themselves. I got a bunch of croissants and other baked goods along with a chocolate raspberry cake. The chocolate ganache on the cake was rich and decadent and the raspberry flavor was balanced well with the chocolate. My family enjoyed the croissants. Worth stopping by and giving a try!
