“Pizza is ok, really enjoyed the French dip sandwich! Didn't really care for the stromboli, cheese lacking flavor. Service is very good, very outdated interior but has a lot of character due to how old it is, did notice it was clean inside, not one of those stale beer smelling bars.”

“I treated my friends to dinner tonight and the service was just as fabulous as the food. Our server was Kateri (Kat) she took great care of us and also recommended some of the food items on the menu. Everything was delish. We are definitely going back. Thanks Kat for your great hospitality 😁”

“trattoria stella is a nice place for special occasion dinners. they have very dim lighting that surprised us when we walked in. the hallway seating was beautiful to walk through; the hallway arches are so cool to see. i ordered spaghetti with veal meatballs and it was good. the pasta tasted so fresh! my partner ordered the pork chop that came with potatoes, broccoli, and butter beans. the pork chop was very moist, which we never really see at restaurants so that made the meal super tasty. our waitress was nice and attentive; staff will let you know about the specials of the day and any explanations :)”

“Brussel sprouts were over fried & over charred, dressed with balsamic vinegar reduction. 3/5 Steak frites was cooked perfectly (medium) & fries were salted well. Served with a mini bottle of Heinz ketchup. 5/5 Pork tomahawk was cooked & seasoned perfectly, accompanied by smashed potatoes that were bland with a mustard based sauce that wasn't my favorite. String beans were over salted. 4/5 Diver scallops were perfectly cooked, but way over salted, served with crispy bacon that was even more salty, red pepper puree that was also over salted. We were most excited for this dish, but the most disappointed. 3/5. Service was courteous and efficient. 4.5/5 Ambiance was warm & it was well decorated. 4.5/5 Glad we tried it, but did not meet our expectations for a restaurant with nearly 5 stars on Yelp.”

“The best kept secret in the area! The food is super fresh, affordable and most importantly amazingly delicious! The owners are very nice and always friendly and accommodating. You certainly get the most bang for your buck here especially when compared to the often overpriced mediocre restaurants in the Traverse area. This place is truly a gem that is worth a visit!”

“These 2 were what I ordered. A carbonara and a bolognese. Carbonara was okay and I loved the texture of the pasta, if anyone could tell me what the name of the pasta is that’ll be great. However the bacon crumbs were very salty. I thought the bolognese was very child friendly and nice. Blueberry tiramisu was not worth it, it’s like school dining hall dessert, very pricey. Overall, a pricey place but understandable given the location.”

“Lamical review We first came here 20 years ago and we’re charmed by the ambiance, the fireplace and the delicious food. Our most recent visit in February 2022, after several years absence, was a sad disappointment. 1. We had to ask the waitress if the cheap hunk of dry buttered bread with a soft crust represented the baguette. Unfortunately it did. It was not sourdough as advertised. The waitress said it was a “wheat sourdough”? Ok, sure. 2. The French Onion soup was saltier than the Atlantic Ocean, was mostly bread filled with few onions, and was topped with mozzarella not gruyere. 3. The entrees were mediocre at beat. I’ve never ordered anything other than the roast chicken and was looking forward to it. The chicken was piled on top of the potatoes and broccoli in nouveau cuisine fashion and was drenched in a weird creamy sauce. The beef bourguignon was served with strange gigantic noodles. Not good. The price fixe items were mediocre. 4. Service was decent. The bus boys did a great job of filling our water glasses, which was appreciated given the salt level. We sadly and regretfully won’t be coming back.”

“Wonderful, helpful service as soon as we walked in! We were visiting Traverse City and decided to try this pizza place based on hours and reviews. We were happy we did! The people who work here were helpful with our food and beverage selection as well as what we should check out while we were in town. Super friendly people AND amazing pizza?! Yes, please! We had the meatball pizza, big popper pizza (our fave. Tasty combination of flavors!), and the devil sticks. Everything was great and we enjoyed some of it for breakfast the next day. It was wonderful then as well! Highly recommended stopping in and hanging out, or grabbing some of this amazing pizza to take home...for dinner AND breakfast!”

“This is something special, I will remember this restaurant forever, from the moments they open me the doors to moment I left the place I feel so magical, very nice people was inside, and food, I really don’t have words! Taste was so good balanced, every sauce, even colors, fish was so good cooked, and decorated but my taste, nothing to much just like they need to be! Harmony! They are so unique and so original! I love this place! They are definitely number one in USA! And to everything be to the top level they have espresso ❤️”

“Farm Club is my happy place, it’s just… Well, incredible in every way! We stoped for lunch after biking there from Suttons Bay. The people there are super chill and friendly. We had a farm board with smoked whitefish and it was phenomenally good. Everything was fresh and sourced from their farm for a true farm to table experience. We also had some wine from local producers that was excellent. We’ll be back very soon! ??”

“We LOVE Millie and Pepper. It’s so cute and cozy and the crepes are mouthwatering. They have a great mix of both sweet and savory crepes available so there’s something for everyone. I highly recommend the ham and cheese with a fried egg? If it’s too busy to sit inside the crepes come in a perfect to go container to eat and walk around downtown. If it’s busy you will have to wait a bit for your crepe, it’s a small place and they can only make so many at a time but they are consistently delicious and worth the wait!”

“Holy cow! Where do I start ? The decor’, ambiance, service, craft cocktails and food…. OUTSTANDING ! We were in Traverse City for a long weekend. We saw The Tasting Room while we were walking around town. We loved the looks of the place and decided to give it a try for dinner. We told our server how impressed we were with the food, next thing we knew, Chef Steve and one of the owners, came to our table! The NY Strip was SO tender ! Like butter! The Grouper was magnificent. Served with risotto that was equally good! And the Chocolate Cheesecake was to die for! We loved the place so much , we went back the next night. Strongly recommend The Tasting Room !! You won’t be disappointed ❣️”

“Had a great meal with friends on the patio. All of the food was excellent—a cut above—and at fair prices. We shared the excellent short rib nachos, very tasty fish and chips, yummy calamari, and refreshing strawberry and goat cheese salad. We would get any of them again. The service was friendly and good. This is a neighborhood gem. We will be back.”
