“I have been eating Happy Garden since I was a baby, so for the past 27 years! When I tell you this is the only place my family and I get our Chinese food! They have been consistent all this time. A few years ago they got new owners but they kept all the original recipes and I love that so much. Thank you so much Happy Garden for the amazing food and service.“

“Ordered take-away: Szechuan Chicken dinner. The chicken meat looked like good quality from first glance, same for the vegetables and it was much better than the Chineese place by my house. The dinner was a Styrofoam container full of food, 2 scoops of chicken fried rice, was enough for 3 people to have a bowl which really hit the spot. We ordered it spicy and it was indeed spicy with a good amount of gravy sauce. Fantastic food and value will be coming back soon!“

My 5 and 8 year olds love the food and always ask to go here. My wife and I have tried many items on the menu and have been pleased with them all. My boyfriend & I went in last night & of course it’s a night when Michelle isn’t working (she doesn’t work fridays but at the time i didn’t know) There is 5 other tables in there so we are patient (i’m a server myself, i know it’s hard to deal with so many tables at once) but i noticed almost everybody around us already had there food. (maybe 1/5 tables didn’t have their food) We sat down, 2 mins later she comes to give us our menus, we come here pretty often so we don’t need menus & the stuff we wanted weren’t on those menus anyways, it was on the appetizer menu on the table. 10 mins passes by, nothing. she walks past us 2 times & we don’t even have drinks yet, we set the menus at the end of the table indicating we were ready to order when she had the chance. another 5 mins passes by, she checks on the table next to us / behind us & still does not say a word to us. at this point i’m aggravated because this is 3 times she’s walked past, we’re about 20 mins in & we don’t even have DRINKS yet. end of story, we walked out, like i said, im a server myself & having your table sit there for 20+ mins & not even asking for their drink order is terrible service. Anyways, again, i ONLY recommend going to 888 when michelle is working, maybe she needs to be put on Fridays instead of the other girl.“

“This is an excellent little Chinese place. Not really made for eating inside, small and pretty dingey, but I'm pretty sure you could if you really wanted to. It seems like 95% percent of people order take-out including myself. I usually get chicken and broccoli with the shrimp fried rice and some egg/spring rolls with some egg drop soup and its always hot, even when I get home. The food is fresh tasting, they never skimp you on the ingredients and in fact, give you as much as they can or more. I definitely recommend this Chinese restaurant.“

“I like their food. Their portion sizes are just right for me. Their prices are comparable to other places in the area, maybe a little cheaper. But what I love the most is that they offer lunch all day unlike most places that end lunch at 2 or 3. Sometimes I'm not really that hungry and want a lunch size portion at dinner. I love their Ban Ban Chicken. But be aware if you plan to use a debit or card there is a $10 minimum. So if you order lunch that is under $10 and you use a card they charge you $10 anyway. Went back there because the only place that I had found where I live now, and the Chinese food was really good, closed down shortly after covid. “Hunan Town is our family’s go-to place for Chinese food. We’ve been loyal customers for many, many years. Originally, Charles and Lily owned Hunan Garden at 10 Mile and Telegraph. We were crushed when the restaurant closed, but ecstatic to find the new location, renamed Hunan Town, on W. 12. Mile. The new place provides carry out service. The food is excellent, and the portions are super generous. Some of our favorite dishes are Deluxe Lo Mein, General Tso’s Shrimp, and Chicken Chow Mein. I saw that China House Inn was 2 miles away, and the very first review I saw said that it was the best Chinese food the reviewer had in his life, so we decided to try it. Being a little after 3:00, the place was nearly empty; there was one couple there, and after a little while another person walked in. We missed the lunch prices by 15 minutes, but even the dinner prices on the combinations were reasonable. I got almond boneless chicken, and my sister got egg foo young. We also got hot tea that was served in a beautiful metal teapot -- so much fancier and nicer than the usual metal or white china ones. Our food came fairly quickly, and the whole combination was on one plate. The amount was quite generous (the server/cashier even brought boxes without us asking!) and it really was very good. The egg rolls were perfect, the fried rice wasn't greasy or over-fried, and it had visible chunks of chicken in it.
