This bakery is classic Italian and has served the Grosse Pointe and surrounding community for decades with care and love like no other. The hours posted say that they're open til 6pm, this isn't true. Today we rushed to get there before they closed. We got there at 5:55pm. Right as I was walking up, a little girl closed the security door on a customer walking out, almost taking his head off. The customer said something to the little girl in rude tone. I walked in and said, "well in her defense, it's not 6 O'clock yet". Some blond woman behind the counter was totally offended by that and let me know she didn't appreciate my comment, which she clearly didn't understand what I was trying to say.You're either open til 6pm or 5:55pm. There is a difference. My family is Italian, we been buying our cannoli there for 30 + years. I understand, it's the end of the day and you want to leave, however, if you want to close when it's more convenient for YOU, maybe you should start a business working for yourself. We'll be buying our cannoli from a different bakery from this moment until the end of time.These are the cannolies we got, which look like the woman smashed them on purpose. Of the thousands of cannoli we've bought from bommaritos...not a single one has ever looked like it took a right cross.

Been going here my whole life, my dad grew up just a couple blocks from here so it's always been on the radar. The place is small so it can get a little claustrophobic when busy, but that's generally not a problem. Good subs, even if the bread can be a bit too crunchy for my tastes. Love their pizza! The cannoli cream is delicious and you can get it in a tub... makes an awesome holiday dip. Biggest complaint is it can be slllllloooooowwww if there are more than 2 people in there. Not the end of the world, but it it not a place you can always go if you don't have a lot of extra time. Today is Fat Tuesday so we ordered some paczki for a large multi family order. They are the best place for cannoli ones so we tend to get them here. We were shorted 2 cannoli and a custard. The number looked correct but it seems there were place holder 'donuts' in the 2nd box (we assume for the 2 missing cannoli as I think they are filled to order) and something we did not order was mistakenly added. We called and they said they would get that fixed up for us after the appointment we're at. :) If you are in the neighborhood, make sure you check it out for a slice or some baked goods.

Great Italian bakery, best one in Michigan hands down. My family has been coming here for generations. These people crying with poor reviews are full of themselves. I hope this place never goes anywhere. I want my kids to enjoy this food and atmosphere for many more generations!
