7/20/23 So I did a grub hub order for the two chop meal with garlic mashed potatoes and Mac n cheese.lol literally these were not full pork chops it looked as if people in the kitchen were hungry and cut the fat part off of the center cut chop and it definitely wasn't 2 full chops more like one definitely cheated out of 22$ the mashed potatoes were a bit loose would recommend ordering in or picking up and checking out your order no one should have to settle just because it's a grub hub to go order pictures attached. Sucks cause I had high hopes. If your gonna charge the price deliver the product look at my pictures and look at others who did reviews or dined in.

The food was good but it took 2 1/2 hours to get it. The band was finished with a whole set before we got our food. Very unorganized and slow. Staff needs personality training. Unprofessional. Please hire more people this might help.

This restaurant has THE worst service I have ever encountered. After being seated we waited around 30 minutes before our order was taken. It took another 30 minutes to receive our drink order. It took another hour after that before our food arrived. From the time of our reservation to the time of receiving our food was 2 hours.Our waiter was new and being trained so I don't blame him. There is absolutely no reason we should have had to wait so long to receive our meal. The restaurant wasn't crowded at all.This was our second and final visit to Soul of Detroit. Both times the service was very poor. We only came this time because a friend's relative was performing here.Oh, and one of the trainees spilled water all over our friend. This was the highlight of the night due to giving us a good laugh.

Just left from seeing the Chris Canvas band. This band is great! My 3rd time at the restaurant and the service is horrible. The manager is full of excuses. She didn't seem to really care. She just had excuses. We waited for 2 hours for food. The only reason I come here was to see Chris and the band but I rather drive to Ann Arbor. Staff is untrained, restaurant is not efficient and poorly staffed. Would not recommend! If you go, eat before you go and just have drinks. Sit at the bar!!!! The service killed my vibe!!!!! Food was decent when we did receive it ?
At The Soul of Detroit, I had the most delicious supper. I ate the mac n' cheese, candied yams, and giant shrimp! The shrimp had great flavor and was FRESH! The mac n cheese was delicious, and the yams were just the right amount of sweet.

Reviewing the location in the Lakeside Mall food court.It's good! I ordered the wings, with steamed cabbage and coleslaw as sides. It also comes with cornbread. All of it tastes just as good as it smells!Maurice is nice and definitely a hard worker, seems to be back there on his own.It's unfortunate this place doesn't get more business, but if you ever come to Lakeside, this is a must-stop! I'm looking forward to seeing the walk-in Lakeside location open up in September.

Located inside the food court at Lakeside mall. Honestly this location deserves to be in one of the plazas outside of the mall! The cook was so nice, and he let me get the catfish dinner for the price of the catfish nuggs. The food came out fast and was hot and fresh! 10/10 definitely recommended (Not pictured a Grape Faygo float)

The music is good and so is the food the drinks are bomb too it is a $10 cover for each person they don't tell you when entering buttttttt I didn't mind the music and the ambiance was amazing I will return.
I work at Lakeside Mall and had heard great things from other Lakeside employees about Soul of Detroit. Today, I ordered the chicken BLT wrap and I have to say, this is the best wrap I've ever had in my life! The chicken was perfectly seasoned, and moist! All the ingredients tasted fresh and delicious, I'm so happy I finally decided to give it a try! The lovely lady taking orders was also kind enough to deliver our order to store! Great food and great experience !

This is for anyone wondering where they relocated which is to Lakeside Mall food court- soul of Detroit 2! Not sure where the promotion or marketing has been BUT here you are. So!let's chat- I ordered the turkey chops and Mac n cheese. Chops were good but the Mac- nope! I would try them later in the day once the Mac has settled and fully cooked. I was forewarned by staff AFTER I got my order. If you ate at the old location- I know it was just a bad day.

If I could give this a 0 star I would! I’m normally easy to please. The room was fine until I saw the sheets ! What’s the point of hiring people to clean if they half way do their job. I’m definitely getting my money back from this nasty place!!!!!! READ THE REVIEWS BEFORE YOU BOOK !

Rude & hateful: the group of two black women next to me, who came in after me, received their food first! Don’t go in there if you’re lacking melanin…

And not quite sure why it's called the soul of Detroit seeing as though it's not in "Detroit" But I guess some souls do travel. Atmosphere was okay nothing really charming or different about it The food was very subpar I had catfish that I'm almost sure with "swai"( because it tasted different from my friends catfish nuggets) potatoes( we're very thick) and fried okra was okay! A friend of mine got some oxtails and they were not good at all I don't even know why they would purchase any oxtails. The comedians were very good and hilarious so we did have a great time I myself just had a glass of Cabernet. My recommendation would be to Get the money at the door and also if you're going to be paying using The online method would be to Check out at the door like Sam's club because not everyone is integris is my group ? I would attend again for the comedy show but I would not eat any food That was a waste of my money ?
