“Came here before going to Aldi and enjoyed every bit of my experience! The service was great and so welcoming. The food was delicious. I tried to do the all you can eat but was full after the first plate. The food was so hot and fresh. Worth every cent! They even made sure I was okay some I hadn’t requested more food. I will definitely be back!“

“A casual restaurant overlooking Lake Michigan.Indoor and outdoor seating available but the outdoor seating is along a pretty busy street so it can get noisy.Visited by locals and visitors, their menu offers just about everything from burgers, salads, soups, noodles and chef features.Started with a Michigan Old Fashion and Cider. They also have a huge beer and wine list.I had the Perch sandwich. Lightly breaded and moist. Came with fries and I substituted the Cole Slaw with asparagus. DeliciousMy wife had the Black and Blue salad with tenderloin. The salad tho was just romaine lettuce with nothing else such as tomatoes, cucumbers or not much bleu cheese. The tenderloin was seasoned perfectly. This place is very well known in the area and is definitely a place to try when in St.Josephs!“

“221 has the best cocktails in town hands down. The bartenders are extremely knowledgeable. The food is excellent, the only negative is that spicy dishes aren’t as spicy as I would like, but I think that’s catering to local tastes. The steaks (I’ve had ribeye and top sirloin) have all been great, very tender. I give them bonus points for cooking them appropriately, if I order medium rare, I get actual medium rare, not medium. Try the BC Ribeye, awesome meal.“

“I recommend the Chili Colorado. It is so freaking delicious. I’m from California and it’s hard to find a good Mexican restaurant. I’m giving this a five stars because they’re real authentic. I’ve been here twice so far and they are very nice. The service was great and the food was delicious.“

“The Mark always makes you feel welcomed. The owners and staff are very friendly and attentive. The menu is extensive. So, when we take the kids and grandkids, everyone finds something that they really want. The food tastes great, and without exception, prepared properly. My current favorite continues to be the blackened salmon, although I have a half- dozen go-to favorites, including their burders! I highly recommend their drinks, lots to choose from, including specials for the day, and always very generous too. We absolutely love the place!Kid-friendliness: Always super friendly to our kids.“

“This was our first visit to 221 since the redesign. My wife and I have enjoyed cocktails on their rooftop terrace many times, and their cocktails are of the best in the area. If you are a whiskey aficionado, 221 has the most robust selection of whiskeys for 45 miles, the kind of selection I would expect from a whiskey bar in a major city. The main restaurant is now long and narrow, with a dark ambiance that really sets the tone for a special meal. From the back of the restaurant, it looks like a place that sits between two skyscrapers in a major city, as if you could walk outside onto the streets of Chicago. There is something romantic--in both meanings of the word--about being tucked away like this for dinner and a drink with someone special. My wife had a French 75 (and a second), and I had the Brown Butter Old Fashioned. She enjoyed hers, I enjoyed mine. The Brown Butter is what you would imagine to be a butterscotch cocktail to taste like, minus the sweetness, which I enjoyed. Our server, Maya, was wonderful. A minor hiccup, I asked for a one ounce sample of the Sea Salt Stout and she brought me a full pint. I chuckled and explained that I was only looking for a taste, which she allowed me, and then removed it from the table. We were not charged for it, of course. This was our first time having their filet mignon. I've had filets everywhere, I consider it the bread-and-butter of restaurants that dedicate an entire page of their menu to beef. Some restaurants over-complicate a filet, like drowning it in a moat of (insert broth here) or cover it in some clever but ridiculous glaze. I was happy to see there were no parlor tricks here. What was delivered was what was expected, and their chef delivered a medium-rare finish of the highest standard. We spoke briefly with the owner, who recognized us from our last visit for cocktails over the summer. 221 remains one of the top tier fine dining restaurants in St. Joe, and you should certainly check it out.“

“Exceptional service from our waiter!! He was so friendly and accommodating, top notch. The food was wonderful too. We ordered the center cut sirloin steak, medium well. Not only was it so very tender but perfectly cooked and deliciously seasoned. We also ordered a pizza which was generously topped; fresh toppings, crunchy crust and also perfectly cooked. Cocktails here were top notch and very fairly priced. Thank you for a great experience all around. We will surely put this place on our favorites list.“

“The server was excellent. The noise level was a little high. Recommend installing noise-canceling pictures...etc. The stuffed shrimp was excellent. I asked if everything was fresh and the server stated "yes". Nothing is Frozen? No.Not sure about the lobster tail as it was tough. Possibly it was just overcooked.I will return soon to see if the food is the same or if this was just an off night.“
