Delicious and cheap halal food! Wish they didn't charge so much for sauces, pita is ok but hummus and sandwiches are great

Racist. Scary. Proof that Minority on Minority is real. When I was the lone customer in the restaurant...he hovered in my direction several times and repeatedly stared. -He asked me what country I was from. -If I had White skin, he would not have assumed that I was from another country. -It is racist to assume someone with brown skin is from a foreign country. -I looked confused and explained that I was American as were my folks. -He kept pressing me about which foreign country. -I explained, one parent's side California and the other Hawaii. -Kept pressing me to name a country. -I explained that he would not be asking me this if I was White. -He went onto say that he was from a foreign country and wanted to know which foreign country I was from, too. - I said I nor my great- grandparents were not from a foreign country, and I found what he said was racist! I said this a few times. - He then flipped his script and said that he was American like me but wanted to know where I was really from.. -I once again said that he wouldnt have asked me this if I was White, asked for refund and said that I would have to leave him a negative review. -He raised his voice, gave me a refund, and screamed that "You are sick in the head. Get the f*** out. Don't ever come back. " He repeatedly used profanity at me.

Itching for a little something to get me out of a lunch rut, I recently swung by Al Basha Grill on a weekday to try something new. Located conveniently on Washtenaw Ave in Ypsi, it's easy to pop in, place an order, and carry out in a minimum of time. For my first time visit, I decided on a Meat Shawarma Sandwich with a side of fries. I waited eagerly while the employee cooked and assembled it all, finally handing over a piping hot wrap and some seasoned fries. Once home (it is the days of the pandemic, and dining in is still prohibited), I unpacked it all and took a bite. Perfectly cooked and seasoned, the wrap hit the spot. I gobbled it down before munching on the crispy seasoned fries -- these things are good! No matter what meal you order, you can't go wrong with a side of fries. To top it off, we decided to be decadent with a little order or baklava. Flaky pastry with honey and pistachios, it's one sweet that always satisfies. If you want something new to tempt your tastebuds, check out the Al Basha Grill for some seriously crave-worthy shawarmas!

I stopped in around 1:15pm for lunch, the two men working were very nice and had my food ready faster than I expected, i got the lamb shawarma lunch combo, and i gotta say it has got to be one of the best shawarmas I've ever had. Thanks guys! I'll definitely be back.

My family and I just enjoyed a delicious meal from Al Basha! I called with a very large order (15 sandwiches, falafel, and sides). Not only did they get the order right, but the flavors were amazing. Thank you :)

This place has the best shawarma! Seriously, I've tried it so many different places and I always have to come back here to get the real deal. Get extra garlic sauce, it's amazing! The owner is always working and so polite. Highly recommended!
