“Disappointing experience. The server came at once and brought my 2 year old juice immediately without asking me, her mother. Luckily they didn't charge for it but I see in the menu they could have. The server didn't know what mac and cheese was, so I had to point to "macaroni and cheese" on the menu. The sign that brought us in said "$8.99 Special Omelet Seniors 10% Off." I was happy to go in for an $8.99 omelet and after consuming a coffee found out the special was French toast. The sign meant seniors get 10% off omelets. Don't want to ruin the business with less than 4 stars but won't return.“
“A wonderful little place for a quick and delicious lunch. I'm a sucker for phở and Lucky Pearl didn't disappoint. Great flavor, a generous portion and service was super fast. I'll definitely be making this one of my regular spots.“
“Rebecca's is our favorite bakery in Minneapolis. The owner and his wife are friendly and welcoming and their cream puffs, fruit tarts, cakes, turn overs and scones are delicious. They're not overly sweet so you don't feel sick after you eat them. We also buy his coffee he imports the organic beans from Ethiopia and roasts them in house. We LOVE Rebecca's and are so glad they are our neighbors!“
“First time going and I received the wrong sandwich. I asked twice what it was but I couldn’t remember everything in the sandwich I actually ordered so it’s on me for not getting the correct one. All in all, food was good and so was the coffee. Fast service, good food, and friendly faces made the experience worth going back again!“
“I went to Cream and Amber for the first time this weekend and I was impressed the reviews did not oversell the experience.A friend recommended I check out this cute reading café, so I gave it a shot. What I found was a lovely space with an even more welcoming staff. It was clear the people running the show are the same people who could want to spend their time there. It is a cozy space with appropriately lively energy - many familiar greetings and warm conversations to provide a comfortable background for reading. ♥“
“What an amazing restaurant the food was absolutely delicious. I got the combination Guanaca and it was well balanced and delicious. The fried plantain really added an extra layer of texture and depth to an amazing meal. Our server was very professional and friendly and really enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant. Hopefully if we are in the area again this is a must stop. I will be recommending this restaurant to my friends and family.“
“I loved my Dolche de Leche latte! It was sweet enough without being over powering. I liked the banana bread loaf as well. Street parking was easy to find too! My only complaint is that it gets super busy and has limited seating. I came to sit and visit with a friend and we waited for seating and it was fairly loud. Once it calmed down, it was the perfect environment to visit. I also found the staff very kind and calm despite it being so busy! I would visit again any time!Parking: There is a hill on the side of the coffee shop where it seems the majority of people parked. The neighborhood also has a lot of space to park. Parking on Penn is limited due to a large 30 min parking area, but I found this to be the best parking.“
“Stopped in on my Saturday morning adventure. Absolutely delicious biscuit with freshly cooked ingredients. As a Tea lover I was excited to see many different options of tea including black, green, herbal, and seasonal flavors. Place was busy, but the staff got through orders fast. Plenty of seating and a great vibe. A place you don't tell your friends about, but bring them to, because you selfishly want to be able to claim you showed them it.“
“Not being from the area, this place sure wowed us! So good!! It's such an adorable local cafe with amazing food and homemade pickles! The vibes are very quiet and the lights are dim, and there are a lot of people vibing on laptops due to the relaxing environment. Highly recommend! Loved the tea and latte we got.Parking: Paid for parking 2$ an hour up to 4 hours“
“My boyfriend and I decided to check out a new coffee shop, and we came across Cuppa Java on Google Maps. When we first entered the building, I immediately loved the vibe, and there are many cozy corners with plenty of outfits to get some work done. The employees were extremely friendly, and I ordered and ate one of the best bagels I've ever had. There is a gender neutral bathroom with ADA accessibility which I highly appreciated.I will definitely be coming back!“
“I stopped by last Saturday, and I got a scone and a Cranes in the Sky iced coffee, and the combination was AMAZING! The prices were very reasonable for the hand-crafted beverage and pastry! I also loved the ambiance of the coffee shop, the outdoor patio, and the clothing selection! I will definitely come back!“
“The food was genuinely amazing, best cafe/Diner hashbrowns I've had in YEARS! and the server Mai was extremely polite and pleasant to interact with. Most meals are close to 15$ which might seem slightly pricey but it's genuinely worthit for the quality of the food. The coffe while simple is delicious as well, if you get some 100% get their reccomended house made French vanilla cream with it, it gives it a dulcé de leché flavor and is a 10/10 on flavor.“
“Dan the owner is Dan the man.Personally place key West in my top 5 coffee spots in Minneapolis, and second for sandwiches only beaten out by my nostalgic love for caffreys sandwiches.Great place to stop if you are nearby and need food or coffee. Definitely also would recommend going out of the way to stop in as well.“
“This place is truly the only food spot in Minneapolis I crave regularly. I only took 1 star away because 100% of the time I've sat in, they forget my bakery item and then are sold out and can't offer me anything. However, the sesame croissant is to die for so I always take my chances or at least order at the register.“
“If your looking for home style cooking that actually tastes great like grandma's this is the spot! does get a little busy, but they ta because it's great food and a great atmosphere. Love this place! Great little unknown family diner.“
“The last two words "Coffee gallery" perfectly describes the coffee shop! It's cool seeing the different kinds of art work, also two huge plusses are there's plenty of tables and there's a parking lot!! For the amount of people that were there it wasn't super loud either! Will for sure be coming back again!“
“Nate is the coolest person ever! Very welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Try their strawberry flavor drinks it's pretty darn good or their weekly specials. Definitely a gem spot and so glad to come here when I'm in Minneapolis. Super healthy and quick! Love seeing this in the community!“
“This is such a cute cafe with amazing food! Counter service with self serve water. The staff was very friendly and speedy with my food. I highly recommend the pork. It was soo tender it just fell apart. The seasoning was subtle with just the right amount of saltiness. The rice and beans were bland but were a good carb to soak up the juiciness of the pork. The sweet plantains were perfect in every way. They had beautifully crunchy bottoms from being fried. The arepa con queso was good. There is a sweetness with the butter and maybe in the corn masa itself. Its very dense and rich, i would recommend splitting with a friend if possible.“
“We stopped here for coffee on a quiet morning and had the opportunity to have a really great conversation with the barista, Katie. They also then made us genuinely the best lattes we've both ever had. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for good coffee and good vibes.“
“Haven't been there in a while but I'm so glad to see they are still there. Great coffee, service(quick and efficient) and the atmosphere is THE best I've ever experienced in a coffee house. The staff is friendly and so are the customers. Outside seating is great. I love that there are spaces, on the street, reserved for motorcycles. Prices, for a coffee house of this caliber, are inexpensive. I used to live in the neighborhood and Bob's became my go to. Thank you.“
“It’s a 4 degree Fahrenheit day in Minnesota and there is no better way to spend the morning than visiting a coffee shop. I stumbled upon Up Cafe. What a treat! The atmosphere is relaxing and inviting. Background music adds to the great vibe here. This is one of the easier-to-get-to coffee shops in Minneapolis as it is near the hustle and bustle of the city but situated in a quiet neighborhood not far off the beaten path. They make a crave-worthy oat milk latte that I will come back for!Parking: This coffee shop has ample, no hassle street parking and a small attached lot.“
“You can get a delicious veggie burger or the same burger with a beef patty. We had the fries, brussel sprouts, french onion burger and the “philly cheese steak” made with mushrooms and it was ALL delicious! Owners were great and they even treated us to a pie for Pi day on 3/14!!! Great and unique wine list was also fun. Prices were great and tip was included!“
“The staff is helpful and friendly. We got to talk with the owner for a bit and learned that the bread is fresh made in house, and the bacon is smoked in house as well. The food is delicious! The restaurant itself is clean and comfortable.“
“This is a hidden gem! I went into Rewind next door and was craving my afternoon chai afterwards. I'm still on a Starbucks boycott so I've been trying to go to local coffee shops and I saw The Coffee Shop next door! I ordered the Killer Chai (which is amazing) and the chocolate chip banana bread (also incredible!). The staff was super friendly and I felt very welcomed and safe, I will definitely be back!“
“Middle of the road coffee shop. Attached to art studios. One small seating area is pretty cozy but the rest are a little bland and don't have windows, but they are doing the best they can with the space they are in. Food is made on the spot and is better then you might expect. I go loaded breakfast burrito every time and love it. Staff is hit or miss, but they are never rude.“
“Cool place, good vibes, okay service. Living in the North Loop I have the luxury of having amazing cafes to benchmark them against. Food was great, don’t get me wrong. But prices are extremely high compared to higher caliber food in the North Loop. $5.75 for just a croissant? $15 for a croissant with prosciutto and cheese? You can get the best ham and cheese croissant in the city at Bellecor in the north loop for $6 and the best breakfast sandwich in the state for $15 there as well. Don’t want to distract from how great our food was here, but won’t be back given the value. We spent over $50 for a breakfast sandwich, slice of banana bread, a prosciutto croissant, an Americano and a chai tea latte… that’s a lot. Saw a couple come in, look at the menu and then turn around and walk a block down to Turtle Bread instead.“
“I order for work from them and it is always delicious and timely. I love that we can get last minute catering that is both quality and priced modestly. The staff is so friendly and they communicate well.I would recommend them 100% to anyone!“
“Vegetarian options: Non-dairy milk selection available for coffeeParking: 14 parking spots, street parking available, and the parking lot across the street has no current tenants attached to it so parking is currently available there as well“
“Sitting next to the iconic 1908 mansion (33 rooms) of the Turnblad family (Swan Turnblad managed Svenska Amerikanska Postern, which had the largest Swedish newspaper paid circulation) is the Nelson Center which includes Fika Cafe offering many Nordic delights. Plenty of free parking. Keep in mind Park Ave was the first paved street in Minneapolis & Turnblad owned the 1st electric car in Minnesota.“
“Food was excellent. Great omelet with fresh ingredients. Enjoyed the warmth on a frigid Minnesota Sunday morning. Overall a nice coffee shop and great breakfast spot. Biggest kitchen with Tina of flour. This place produces a lot of baked goods. “
“This place has the makings of a great coffee shop that has the atmosphere to bring in travelers and locals alike. The only thing missing from this place is OUTLETS. There are a minuscule amount with only a few spots allowing a charging port. Being that coffee shops have historically been correlated with working on personal computers, it has become quite expected that there is enough places to charge said devices.“
“Old school hippy coffee shop with amazing pastries; small & cozy with shared tables, crowded on weekends. Mini pizzas, danishes, lasagnas, savory scones, Cuban stew…If they run out of what you wanted by the time you order, try something different because that will become your favorite thing. Good place to meet up with your vegan or gluten free friends. The long line moves quickly. No off street parking but has a bike rack in front. Their bread pudding and cinnamon rolls are meant to be shared with a friend or taken on a long hike so they can be enjoyed sitting under a shady oak contemplating your life’s purpose.Dietary restrictions: Vegan and gluten free options“
“It's decent, and they have a pour over. I don't know that this is the best roaster in the city. The pour overs were all on the weak side, and the beans I bought ended up being a little rough. I like the place and the people there were nice. I don't know that they have their roasting dialed in, however.“
“It’s been awhile since I visited Hard Times (City Pages was still around when I last went), and I realized I forgot to write a review, so here we are…Hard Times has a great vibe. Feels rooted in community and is unpretentious and radical. The food was pretty good, but the quality isn’t on par with Modern Times or Seward Cafe in my opinion. I appreciate the vegetarian/vegan options.“
“I absolutely love this coffee shop! The coffee is always top-notch, the atmosphere is cozy and inviting, and the staff are incredibly friendly and attentive. It’s the perfect spot to unwind or catch up with friends.”Parking: Free parking as wellKid-friendliness: My kids love Muhim's cafe“
“Munkabeans Coffeehouse in Hopkins has a warm, fresh, homemade feel. From the blueberry muffins cooling on the counter to the local artists’ work displayed on the walls, the coffee shop has a neighborhood vibe that is very inviting. My husband ordered a Cinnabon Latte coffee and shared a sip with me. It was so good, I ordered my own. I also purchased some of the available artwork for sale. ❤️“
“Welcoming & a Vibe. This is a real gem, a diamond in the rough. There is no place quite like Cafetto. It is punk, it is cozy, it is filled with music but it’s peaceful at the same time. The staff are always friendly, knowledgeable, and apt at making the perfect cup of joe or chai of choice. If you need a place to vibe, work, or have some fun (especially with the plethora of pinball machines in the basement), this is the place to be. I just wish there was a location in St. Cloud, but to me this place alone is worth the drive!“
“I can't believe I never heard of this breakfast place! Super cute and tucked into the back of a strip mall. Easy to miss. Great breakfast foods and styles of yesteryear, the other side looks like a bar with a bunch of townies, we'll have to check that out sometime!“
“This place is so cute and has a great environment for a nice long lunch. It isn't too loud, but there is a nice lively vibe. The food was so good, as was the service. I am a vegetarian, and there were plenty of options for me. The desserts are so good, too. They also have some food ready to take home, too. Love it. I will be back.Vegetarian options: Veggie burger, salads, pastas, etc.“
“Although it’s a little tucked away in deluxe plaza, Gray Fox a nice café with good atmosphere for reading or working. I got a black coffee with a cake donut (total $6.65; $3.00 12oz coffee + $2.65 cake donut + $1.00 tax) and both were very good! The coffee was actually better and cheaper than most cafés in Minneapolis. It does have a very open environment, but I think it adds a unique atmosphere. Definitely would recommend for a quick stop before starting your day!“
“Coffee tastes so much better when your baristas smile and laugh with you in the morning. I get that exact experience everytime i visit! Love the crew hereKid-friendliness: So many fun kids drinks!Wheelchair accessibility: They have a walk up window and a spot for wheel chairs to access the window. A tun of seating next to the building with plenty of shade!Dietary restrictions: If your lactose intolerant or allergic to anything. This team takes pride in taking care of there customers everyday!“
“The Somali tea (kind of like sweet spiced chai) here is so good and affordable and their smoothies and sambusas are delicious. If they have any of the house made juices when you go in, you definitely don't want to miss out on them (especially the watermelon). Usually pretty quick service but sometimes it takes a while for someone to come to the counter when you first get in. TVs are loud and it's not too comfortable in there so I usually take it to go but overall great place.“
“Best chapati in the world is found in this little coffee shop. Not to mention the chicken soup, which is so hearty that it will open up your nasal passages. Plus I like the fact that they have now renovated the place, which was much needed, although the building is old as hell.“
“Stopped by their for lunch today. The special was a Mediterranean bowl with a side and drink. You can pick the toppings and choice of rice, veggies, beans chicken or beef. Different sauce options are available too. The bowl was tasty. I went with the beef and tomato rice with all the toppings, tzatziki and spicy sauce. Instead of chips, I chose fresh fruit of which there were three different choices. The place is small for seating inside but the building has a common area with tables. The staff is friendly and courteous. At just under $12, this was a very filling, tasty meal and quick.“
“I ain’t lie! Thanks to people’s review so I want to stop by! I already in love with iced Matcha - this is the most best ever than another. Perfect balance and not too much or sweet - taste is perfect. Bacon, cheddar, chives and scrambled- O-M-G! Can’t described. HIGHLY RECOMMEND stop by! I love their artists and I’m solo temping that I want buy one!“
“This place was absolutely spectacular! Amazing coffee, amazing location and plenty of space to sit down with a client and have a drink. The cozy warm fireplace and the fresh green really makes this place feel at home. It's a beautifully designed building with marble pillars that will take your breathe away. I would say this is one of the coolest looking coffee shops I have ever been in and will continue to come back when I am in Minneapolis. 10/10 recommend“
“Pros Ambiance: 10/10 Service: 10/10 Food: chai is amazing!!!! - love the place! It's so comfortable and best place to study ( only if you have enough charge in your computers) -Amazing place to read and relax. Great for solo or even romantic getaway. Cons - No charging port. - Due to constructions parking is slightly annoying.“
“Alma is the best little neighborhood coffee shop/cafe/goodies trove. The pastries are *chefs kiss, everything is honestly great.Keep in mind that the griddle and the coffee bar are small spaces, and when it’s busy you might have to wait a little bit for your order. Give them time to cook up the masterpiece. It ain’t starbys! The barista can only pull 4 shots at a time—that’s one large drink. The staff is super friendly with a lot of personality. It’s the perfect place to pull up, hang out, have a snack and sip some caffeine. Highly recommend!“
“Coffee prepared well, service was friendly and efficient, seating was spaced comfortablely (able to hold conversation w/o noisy distractions) left with breakfast sandwich- excellent!Overall, this is a desired stop when visiting Maple Grove!“
“My husband and I finally checked out this neighborhood spot for dinner and loved it! We had a the Cajun cheesesteak, mushroom Swiss burger with watermelon mojito lemonade. Tasty baked fries and yummy dipping sauces. We took a piece of cheesecake to go and wow! It was top tier! Obviously some secret family recipe made with love and well-honed craft. 10-10.We're excited to come back and try the bowls and other cheesesteaks.“
