I have never written a review on here before but this was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had.We made the reservation for 12 of us for brunch to celebrate my birthday with people I haven't seen in months. We were told we would have to make two separate reservations of 6 and request to be seated together. That was totally fine and not the first time we have had to do that before. We get to the restaurant where only 4 of the 20 or so tables were being used, two of which were my groups. They placed us in two separate booths with our backs facing each other. Immediately I asked if there was anyway we could move to the open table next to them or if the other table could move to one of the two open tables on either side of us. The waitress said we couldn't because there were other reservations for 10am and 10:30am (mind you it was 10:15am by then). And guess what? No reservations came. Not only that but the only table that was being used near us MOVED TABLES so they would be able to accommodate their larger grouper with the high tops. So now there were literally four other tables where we could have sat next to each other, but weren't allowed. I tried to include the video of us awkwardly sitting back to back with all of the empty tables but this website doesn't allow videos. It was honestly infuriating and ruined our entire experience. We barely got to see a whole half of our party despite spending good money on some subpar food and a rude waitress. Thankfully the other table had a better waitress but we were all disappointed at the end of it so it really didn't matter. Thanks for ruining a birthday and spoiling the very few times we are able to get together as friends

Came in a few weeks ago with my husband and two nephews for an early dinner on the rooftop. We had some bruschetta to start and all ordered an entree each, it took an insanely long time to get our food with the few individuals who were on the rooftop with us. The chicken had an odd burnt flavor but my nephews and husband really enjoyed their pasta dishes. The service was friendly and super quick to refill drinks.

I've always wanted to vist Amore. They're one of few places Uptown that has a rooftop. I love a lil' rooftop action in the Summer months. Located basically on Lake & Irving, parking in the back or on the street. **Rooftop access is in the back only and you MUST be able to walk up stairs, fyi!** Otherwise they have a dining room with access through the front on the corner of Irving and Lake. Also, restrooms are inside as well, so before you get comfortable, I suggest visiting the restroom FIRST, before walking up all the stairs, because you cannot reach the inside without walking downstairs to the lot and around to the front. On to the rest! Food: Amazing! My niece had spaghetti and meatballs. We shared an order of wings and garlic bread and I had Uptown Bolognese. It was soooo good! I was honestly surprised that they had chicken wings. Service: My server was pretty cool. Attentive. Professional. Atmosphere: Laid back. Some were causal and others were dressy casual.

Great service, great food, and great ambience. Amore has been a part of uptown for as long as I remember. They have a wonderful rooftop which is perfect for summer afternoons and evenings. The best part of Amore for me is the halal menu.

This is more of an Italian-American place, so I would not recommend pasta here unless you want to have essentially an upscale version of Olive Garden. But many people are happy with that and the rooftop deck is gorgeous. I had a great cheeseburger and glass of wine and enjoyed myself. Service is friendly and helpful.

I went here with my friends. First of all, I loved all the items I have tried - pasta, chicken, lasagne. There is a bar also. Love the indoor sitting vibe as well. Starters are really great too. The price is on little higher side but It is not too high for the quality of food I received. The service was also great. Will definitely visit again to try the food. Just for the food.

Had lunch on the rooftop here yesterday, it was glorious outside! The rooftop is darling, had the eggs Benedict and it was delicious! They have a free parking lot in the back! This is nice for Uptown. The only thing is they don't have menus so you have to look it up on your phone and they just serve breakfast now not the lunch items which is a little disappointing as I wanted lunch but what I had and the ambience was great. Worth it on a nice day!

Really great service, awesome Italian food and the only halal Italian place in the twin cities area.I've been here multiple times with family and friends, groups large and small and never been disappointed! Service and flexibility is always top notch! The vibe of their deck is great, and in the winters the in door seating is just as good.Food is of course, great otherwise why would you eat at a restaurant if not for their great food.Highly recommend!

Service was awesome but this place leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to food. We got the amore roll, Italian wings and pasta Milan. The rolls were incredibly bland with very little pesto and a tonne of ricotta and no additional flavor. The pasta Milan was vert salty, I couldn't finish it. Thankfully the wings were delicious and crispy. The seasoning was awesome and we enjoyed this dish. The rooftop was nice but maybe needs some additional development. Overall a pretty okay experience. Wouldn't rush back for anything other than the service and wings.

This place couldn't be more appropriately named... You'll fall in love with all there is to offer at the finest Italian eatery in the uptown area. A few blocks out from beautiful Bde Maka Ska, along historic W Lake St., you're immediately greeted by the classic charm of Amore. Two stories, including rooftop dining and eloquent interior dining. The menu is modest, while featuring plenty of authentic offerings with flavor that doesn't disappoint. The staff is friendly and helpful which makes for a very inviting dinner. Perfect for date night!

Quiet rooftop with ample seating and no wait! Perfect for a summer date night. Food was excellent and flavorful.

Although the food at Amore is good, the service is the complete opposite. I have been there twice and experienced less than desirable service both times. In my most recent visit, I was there for a friends birthday and we experienced wrong orders, lengthy waiting times, and inability to accommodate our party at one table. To start, the waitress specifically mentioned we would get "excellent service"... Then the girl who's birthday it was requested no cheese on her dish (lactose intolerant) and after a hour and a half of waiting for our food, it came with an abundance of cheese. The waitress did not discount or compensate my friend for her meal. In addition, when trying to get the bill as we had been there 2+ hours already we could not get the waitress to bring our bill and she went to other tables who had been seated after ours. Upon handing back the bills, she read my name wrong which is a small annoyance but also my name (Alexandra) is on the card. Needless to say, I will not be recommending Amore to friends and family and will not be returning for an extended time period.

A fun place to go on a Saturday evening. When we were seated we were told we only had 90 minutes. That didn't sit well with me considering it wasn't packed but we got to ordering. For starters we had the calamari. They were ok. My partner had the chicken Caesar and I had the pistachio gnocchi. The gnocchi was delicious and quite a generous serving, though you can never have enough gnocchi in my book! We had house wine and Bacardi with Diet Coke and lemon. For dessert we ordered the beignets. These were glorious. At the end of the night, we closed down the place and never once asked to move.

Was in the area from out of town and had a taste for Italian. Found Amore Uptown on google and decided to drop in. the restaurant was nice, nothing fancy but certainly not lower end either. We were sat immediately which was nice for 5:30pm on a Saturday. We started with the garlic bread which was good however the look, taste and texture was nothing more than frozen grocery store fare. Our entrees arrived quickly....chicken parm and lasagna. Chicken parm was the standout here...crispy, tender friend chicken cutlet over a bed of noodles and marinara. it was very good. The lasagna, while giant in portion (I could barely eat half), was nothing special. Waitress wasn't the most attentive which was a bit of a let down. All in all...good food, reasonable prices...atmosphere and service could use a bit of an upgrade.
