Not that it needs another 5 star review, but this has been on my wishlist for YEARS. The fact that they were open long enough for me to finally try it shows how they are, indeed, the real deal! Ventured down on a weekday during COVID to sit outside on the patio (made a reservation). One level lower is the beer garden. The patio is very well shaded with massive tropical plants and I wasn't sweating my butt off on a hot humid 90 degree day!We ordered EVERYTHING that intrigued us, the slow roasted and succulent beef long rib, peanut butter stuffed jalapeños, some seafood hush puppies, and a whiskey flight! Their portion sizes are massive, so don't feel bad about sharing, they're used to it!After the meal we parked nearby to take a quick walk around Loring Park and over the bridge to Walker Art Center! The restaurant itself has valet parking in a small lot. When I went there were beautiful purple tradescantia plants outside the front door!

If you love bourbon, this is the place for you. There are many specialty cocktails to choose from. The food and service is amazing. Very clean and safe!

Let me just start by saying this place is very close to being a 5 star restaurant. Even as I write this I'm torn and the reason is because they really did a great job on 2 things that are my favorite foods: hot dogs and bbq! The foot long hot dog is just amazing. I really want to come back to try the other sausages and my feeling is that this is what Butcher and the Boar excels at. Also, bbq beef ribs are one of my favorite food items on the planet. It's extremely hard to prepare on a nightly basis and while this isn't Austin quality bbq, it is really delicious and doesn't require eating it at exactly noon like the true bbq places. Other than that, the food we pretty good minus the peanut butter jalapenos. I like to order crazy sounding things because I assume a good chef has stumbled upon an interesting new dish. However, this was just bad. It was probably 3-4 times too much peanut butter, which was way too sweet. The corn bread was good, but my mom ranked it 3rd after revival and smack shack's. She's a self proclaimed corn bread expert! And the steak tar tar was very good, except a bit mushy. The flavor and bread were exceptional though. The drinks were very good and so was the service. I would definitely recommend trying the beef rib and sausages here.

Great ambiance. Excellent service. Decent local craft beer menu. The quality of meat here is off the charts. We felt that our side dish and some of the garnishes fell a little short (especially the shrimp mac and cheese.) Overall, it was a great experience.

Im surprised by all the 5 star reviews. We came here for our anniversary and were quite disappointed. Our drinks were tasty but little ice and no garnishes... I expected more . We got the oysters and they were very gritty. And our entrees, we really wanted to be impressed by... we were sadly not at all. I love flavor and spice but at a meat focused restaurant we expected it to be the main focus and it was not. Everything was spicy and overpowering that it took away from meat we wanted to enjoy (and were definitely paying for) With how spicy it was we needed waters refilled but it seemed to take a long time for our server to come around. We did enjoy the fried, green tomatoes. but $250 dollars for the one dish we enjoyed is crazy. We were so excited to check this spot for our anniversary out but our meal and experience was incredibly disappointing... especially for how much it all was.

We enjoyed birthday dinner at the B & B and totally enjoyed it. We had guests with preferences from keto to vegan, and all were happy (especially the keto). Friendly staff, and you could actually talk in between bites. Food was delicious and tasty. I highly recommended this place.

Absolutely love this place and the atmosphere! Hands down is my favorite filet mignon in the Minneapolis area. Would highly recommend the Syrah red wine.

My wife surprised me with reservations here for my pre-birthday celebration and we were both blown away. This was my wife's first restaurant experience during Covid, and she was so happy with all the precautions this staff was taking. The tables were setup with plenty of room all staff had masks and gloves, but that didn't hinder them giving top notch service. I had the Beef Long Rib it was one of the best things I have ever ate in my life. My wife had the foot long hot dog that she enjoyed as well! Thank you to the entire team at Butcher & The Boar for the great experience!

I live across the street from this place and have been meaning to try it for the past year. A few weeks ago I did.It was A M A Z ING. The service was excellent (I got like 5 water refills; yes I'm that guy that drinks a lot of water). Our waitress was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions about the food.We got a ton of appetizers mostly, the 3 sausage platter, mac and cheese, fried green tomatoes, and the steak tartare. For entrees we had the duroc pork. The pork was on point. It's smoked for 18? hours after being brined. The effect made it perfectly salted and smoking was plus-perfect flavor. The best thing though was the mac and cheese. It was distinct flavorful cheesiness with spices that just brought it to life. I actually want to eat some right now.!!!The sausage platter and fried green tomatoes were all pretty good as well. Definitely some distinct and outstanding flavors. I wasn't a big fan of the steak tartare but it wasn't bad.Overall definitely a go-to-spot for REAL GOOD food. Period.

Butcher & The Boar is a great place no matter what you are looking for. I had been to their patio multiple times before dining inside and was always impressed with the food and service there. Both the Brat, Beer, and a shot as well as the Burger, Beer, and a shot deal are highly recommended. One of the best brats I've had in my life. For a side, get the Red Hot Brussel Sprouts. The inside dining experience is a much different vibe from the laid back patio. However, quality of service is even better and so is the food. The wedge salad was simple yet packed with amazing flavors from the big chucks of smoked bacon and smooth yet tangy homemade buttermilk ranch. For dinner I had the smoked beef long rib. It was one of the most tender and flavorful pieces of meat I have had in my entire life! It was so big i made it into three meals! Butcher & The Boar has everything you are looking for! The wallet-friendly priced patio is great year round for enjoying delicious American bar food with friends. Step inside for a white table cloth dining experience that will blow your mind. One of my favorite places in the Twin Cities!

This was worth making the reservation. This place would be perfect for a date night. The sides are shareable so you don't need to go overboard with buying one of everything. It was a little pricey for me but you get your money's worth with the amount of food and the flavors. The waiter was extremely friendly and witty and made the experience that much more enjoyable.
