I enjoyed an evening of Latin jazz by Arturo O'Ferrill at the Dakota. Valet parking at the door was reasonably priced. Food was very good; we had shrimp grits and Dakota cheeseburger. The room had a nice vibe; we had a great time.

Amazing

Excellent assortment of local, national international Jazz acts. Food and cocktails are excellent along with the service. Chairs could be a little bit more comfortable though.

Ambiance, music, service - this place has it all. It's our go-to recommendation for visitors from out of town, and more often than not, we come along too!Just make sure to look up the past work of the musicians before booking, because the styles vary wildly. Our least favorite was a band that pretty much sounded like elevator musak /: That said, they were still great musicians, and we've always enjoyed our outings here.If you book far enough in advance, you can snag the super close up balcony seats, which are really a VIP experience, or the snug little booths, but even at the longer group style tables, you'll have a blast.

Awesome staff. Very nice intimate setting.

It's kind of a funky space for a concert; 90% of the chairs are at the side of the stage. But it's been here forever and gets a great variety of good shows.

Great sound and views for such a wide room. Dinner and tickets can get pricey if you're on a fixed-income. It's live music. What could be better? Love it!

Enjoyed a great band, and good gf snacks including the Cajun Fries and the Key Lime Bar.

An absolute MN gem & world-class jazz club. I’ve hit the spots in NYC, so I know how lucky I am to have this room in MPLS & the artists that grace it.There’s a reason Prince hung out here regularly ✨

We've been to the Dakota a couple of times in the past but this year we've been three times. We've seen Sting and the Police, Candy-Oh (Cars) and Who Are They (The Who) tribute shows. All three were excellent and the Dakota is a great venue to watch bands. Tickets were $35 to $40 pp with tax. They have a nice menu and the meal that isn't part of the ticket. It can be pricey so depends on your budget.

Wow!! Saw Mia x Ally here and was blown away by everything. It is such a cool small space that packs a huge punch! We had seats at the bar and the bar tender was great and offered lots of suggestions. We started with cheddar biscuits, which were amazing, they were served with honey butter. We then split the chicken sandwich and the cheeseburger. Both were great but the cheeseburger was soo good!! The music was great, I've been wanting to see them for years and the Dakota was the perfect spot! It sounds amazing in there and there isn't a bad seat. I will definitely be back, maybe for just dinner, hopefully dinner and a show!! Pro tip: use the valet service, $15 plus tax and tip.

What an incredible venue and fantastic service--Thank you Freeman! We were celebrating my Daughter's 16th Birthday last Friday and it was our first time at a Jazz Club. It was better than we could have dreamed. Our server, Freeman, was especially helpful and when he found out that it was our first time and celebrating a 16th Birthday he gave us advice on future performances and later when there were some no-shows he moved us to better seats. Oh my God-- being up front and seeing Delfeayo Marsalis and the whole Uptown Orchestra up close was mind blowing. We entered the Dakota as casual Jazz listeners and left as Jazz lovers wanting more and so excited to return. It's a long drive for us, but one we are now looking forward to making frequently and seeing all that the Dakota has to offer. Thank you.
