Went there for brunch and food was okay but for the price it was disappointing. The mini donuts were not anything to write home about. The service was decent and the decor was nice but the food was so lackluster that it really took away from the whole experience.

Such a fun spot near Loring Park and downtown. Interesting menu and great wait staff. I had the Brown Rice Bowl. Loved it. A good choice for our multigeneration family get together.

Thumbs up: -They had Bent Brewstillery Dark Fatha on tap for a long time. The staff didn't realize what a big beer that is and served it in a pint glass instead of a snifter for like half the price of what they should have charged for 16 oz. -It is next to Loring Park so you can look at dogs while you are dining. Thumbs down: -The sausage links are tougher and drier than truck stop beef jerky. I have never experienced sausage links like this in my life- it really was puzzling. Picture a piece of petrified wood or a 2,000 year old fossil in a science museum. I imagine that after a meteor explodes mankind off the Earth in a few years, a curious new species will arise. From the wreckage of what once was, these beings will uncover a mysteriously unscathed oblong that, when licked, tastes a little salty. And, with that unexpected discovery, the complicated history of the human race and our problematic dietary choices will gradually be learned. -Last time I was there, they were playing 7th Heaven on the TVs so I felt like I was being touched inappropriately while I was eating the aforementioned sausage links.

Before attending a downtown afternoon event, 6 of us enjoyed the food at The Bird. I chose The Bird based on a menu that would feed vegans and us carnivores. I had the Breakfast Burger, which was excellent and everyone enjoyed their various meals.

Best service I’ve had in a long time! Food just as amazing as the staff! I’ll be coming back

Food is ok. Ordered a basic cob salad...forgot to put eggs in. Brought out dishes at separate times. Overall food was average for price point.

Ordered the open faced breakfast sandwich (pictured) which was really good. Also had mini doughnuts, and my friend got the fried chicken sandwich. Only thing off was the ranch. Idk, I love ranch and this one was a miss for me. My friend loved it though so I guess it's an acquired taste.

It was a busy Saturday. After flying into MSP from OAK, I arrived at the Marquette Hotel past midnight, woke up early to walk over to the Minnesota Center for Book Arts and then hoofed it back to the Loring Park area. I was looking for a lunch place, but was also trying to figure out what happened to my old favorite letterpress shop - Lunalux. On that note, a local printing friend informed me that Jenni got pushed out a bit, the guy that owned the building was a bit of a d**k and the rent just kept getting higher. She is storing her equipment (in Plymouth I think) and trying to work something out. Meanwhile she is mushroom farmer! Now back to Lunch. I took a seat at the bar for what turned out to be an Early Bird Lunch. The tables were already full and soon the bar space was too. This is a popular place and it's fun to watch! I went for the burger and a couple pints of Dark Fatha (an American Imperial Stout matured in bourbon barrels by Bent Brewstillery in Roseville). You know I had a great meal when I had an excellent cheeseburger and I'm raving more about the beer. :) Unfortunately it was eventually time to go. I had a class that afternoon and the wait line was getting longer. Until next time.

Wonderful atmosphere and service! Food was a bit more pricey than I anticipated, but it was well worth it.

I've been here once for mid-week brunch and it was great! Good food, good service, and service dog friendly. The portions are bigger than similar places like Birchwood, despite the quality being the same if not better. I got the Thai peanut bowl and a side of their seeded toast with banana butter. The peanut bowl was spot on - hearty but healthy, with the tofu and sauce and poached eggs all on point. This place does their veggies really well: tender but still bright and fresh and lightly crunchy. Their bread is so good. The banana butter was unique but i was into it: it's just a whipped concoction of bananas and butter. Smooth and mildly sweet. My partner ordered the vegetable hash and that was great too. Tons of very fresh and hearty vegetables. He got a quinoa pancake on the side which was a 10/10. It's made with quinoa flour, not chunks of quinoa in it. It comes with house made berry compote and a drizzle of cashew cream. Yum. Clearly we only sampled the vegetarian options but their meat offerings looked great. My family are hardcore meat eaters and I think I'll bring them here next time they come to town. We brought my partner's service dog and it went great. We sat outside and they immediately brought a bowl of water for the dog. There was plenty of room for him to sit. From the brief peek I got inside, it seems plenty spacious. I imagine it would be a good place to bring a service pup any time of the year without fear of being trampled, which can be hard at cramped brunch spots with a big crowd.

Lovely spot with a huge windowpane overlooking Loring Park. The menu isn't huge, but the focus clearly is on quality: everything we had was great. The service is great: not intrusive, very tuned and professional.

I liked the Bird, but I didn't love it. My meal was kind of expensive for how small it was, plus it was very simple and not spectacular. HOWEVER, the place is absolutely lovely on the inside, the mimosas were bottomless and amazing (the server we had was diligent about filling them frequently). Overall, I would recommend, but choose your meal carefully.
