“We had been to this place when it was called Whiteys several times, but this was our first visit since the change in ownership.

First thing I noticed was they kept the fresh squeezed juice... YAY!!!! I enjoy a variety of cocktails, but a screwdriver with fresh OJ is near the top of my list. So big thanks for that.

I was perusing the menu and it didn't take long for me to notice the lasagna w/side salad. I am a lasagna hound and snob, and have tried it at many establishments over the years. This offering was outstanding, perhaps my favorite (not made by my wife, of course).

We will be back.

P. S. we used to boat on the river and visited Stillwater a lot, but not since COVID. Howard's has been on our radar for a while. Hearing more about it at the Wits Reunion show at the Fitzgerald motivated us to get it done.”

“Were there last Saturday night with friends for dinner and the festivities outside. Had a great time and very impressed with the service. Some of our party were very late (got lost), but the server and host both were very accommodating. It's been years since we've been there from out-of-state, but thought both the food and event were great. Only small criticism, get a band that plays mostly German songs - don't need to hear oldies from this country at German event (e.g. Neil Diamond?).”

“MUST GO! Cocktails are unlike anything you will find anywhere else. Our Server, Brenna, was helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. The comfortable seating & light music make it a great place for a date or gathering with friends. And, prices are reasonable. We each had 2 cocktails and split the generous cheese platter for $100. Highly recommend!”

“Great food, great service, great staff. We had the fungi burger, tavern burger, pomme frites, dipping sauces(they have a lot), and French onion soup. Everything was perfectly cooked, hot, juicy, crispy, and delicious. Our server was Kendall and she was well informed on the specials and the menu, she was polite and friendly and remembered our orders and asked the right questions. All around impressive.”

“The "Kiss of the Geisha" sushi roll was some of the best sushi that I have ever had. We asked for a recommendation from the friendly server, and that roll hit the spot! Spicy, crunchy, and the fish and crab were excellent quality. Good portion of Wasabi on the side. The saki options offered were great as well. Sitting at the sushi bar is a fun and entertaining experience. Great sushi chefs and great servers.”

“12/27/25 Noon. Not very busy. This is the first time we ate inside as we usually just go and get a blizzard and take it with us. The food came quick and we barely sat down and there it was. The cashier was busy cleaning tables in between customers and sometimes talking to the staff in the kitchen. I took a picture of the meals we ordered and we'd already eaten a little bit at that point and it was good. Many drink choices and the condiments are behind the counter except for a ketchup dispenser buy the drinks. It was quiet so a good place to sit and talk since only four tables were occupied. Wear a coat. It's cold in the restaurant and the food cools off almost immediately. Two different stations running on the TVs without volume but you could read the captions. Pretty common and fast food that we've been to. The toilet was a little dirty and could have used some touch up in the restroom. There is parking by the front door but we noticed most people park adjacent to the drive through and then walk across to get in.”

“I love going to Carbone's pizzeria in Stillwater Minnesota. They have a potluck breakfast during the Vikings 8:30 a.m. European games. They give out free purple Jello shots every time the Minnesota Vikings score a touchdown during all season games. Kudos to the Jello shot girl, Jenna. Carbone's has top-notch pizza and they just added BBQ pork ribs as a special, $14.99. I always have a super fun time that Carbone's.”

“I randomly chose this place during a google search for all day breakfast near Stillwater, my significant other got the banana bread French toast and I got the taco salad with chicken. Chicken wasn’t dried up, the bean to salad ratio was on point, and the salsa wasn’t overly spicy but still had a little bit of a kick. The banana bread French toast wasn’t entirely what we expected but it was delicious, had a bit of an unexpected crunch due to caramelization and it was amazing. Our waitress Kathy was amazing! Checking in on us when we didn’t have our mouths full of food and was great with our out of the ordinary requests for peanut butter and an extra bowl so I didn’t make a total mess of the taco salad. 10/10 service! Will definitely be coming back again Thank you Kathy for making our first experience here amazing!”

“I stopped in here today, a cold wet December lunchtime, and got an absolutely wonderful bowl of hot and sour soup. The flavors were perfect… it was fresh tasting with a great balance of hot and sour and a lot of tofu; it was just delightful. So delightful in fact that I got the Thai basil chicken and took it home for dinner (-: Just finished having that for supper and it also was awesome! Service was prompt and very polite, the restaurant was immaculately clean and the menu was broad. I asked another couple who were there having Pho, and they said it was always fantastic, so I will be going back regularly. There’s nothing more warming and comforting than a big bowl of pho on a cold winter day!”
