“We would like to thank Sugar, Butter & Flour Cakery for being such a great community partner! We were lucky enough to build 4 homes in 10 days with volunteers from all over the nation. Alanna helped us welcome everyone in classic Missouri style with the best gooey butter cake, cookies and cupcakes! Four families were able to become homeowners because of this event and we could not have done it without everyone coming together! Kind staff, professional and delicious bakery, community focused:10/10 recommend!“

“Update Nov. 1st:OK, so the Peach/Raspberry pieis good, but it could use more filling and possibly remove the seeds from the Raspberry filling. Now, for their best seller Strawberry White Chocolate, it's Devine, and the crust on both was tasty and perfect. So, Columbia people and Travelers need to stop in and try this pie for sure. Wish I would have gotten a few savory pies for dinner now. Guess I'll have to go back and try some. When I'm in any city, I love to check out the pastry world, be it bakeries or pies places. ? This place intrigued me big time, as any local business run by women I always love to support. Most times, their baked goods are Da Bomb! This place definitely looked interesting on their pie flavors, mind you sweet along with savory. Not only that, they have different sizes of pies, too! I haven't tried mine yet, but the lady at the register was warm and welcoming both when you walked in along with checking out. Normally, I ask their names so I can refer to them specifically. My apologies as I didn't this time. Peggy Jean's is definitely a place to stop and shop. You can't go wrong. Where else can you get something for a dinner entree along with dessert. We browsed the small 6-inch pies and ended up with a German chocolate, chocolate peanut butter, blackberry, peach & Raspberry, and White Chocolate Strawberry I know, but a couple were frozen, so they will last longer. We had another customer tell us we need to try one of the Pot Roast Pot Pies. If I didn't just have lunch, I probably would have tried one. See their menu for all the options. If you live in Columbia and haven't been there, why? I would be in trouble if I lived in Columbia for sure. Check back for an update once we try out of goodies. Until then, if you're in Columbia, get over to Peggy Jean's. You won't be sorry, and you're supporting a local businesswoman!“

Randy's Frozen Custard Ice Cream Shop • $$

“Delicious combinations of vanilla or chocolate custard and toppings. Extensive range of options with cute colorful names and generous servings of two or three toppings a piece mixed in the concretes. My first time here but won't be my last! Biggest challenge was finding the walk up counter and drive thru, it's tucked in a little Alley between strip mall and restaurant and unfortunately their sign doesn't face out towards the rest of the strip mall parking lot, but this is one treasure it's definitely worth hunting for.“

“First off, this is an amazing spot for brunch. Their biscuits & gravy is my fav! They specialize in helping people with allergies with being able to enjoy food again, which isn't a big deal to most, but for those affected, this is HUGE! If you are lucky and don't have this issue like myself, you'll still enjoy the food as Head Chef/Owner, Anna, has spent years perfecting her recipes to mirror the flavors of standard foods. Best of all, the prices aren't out of line with standard cafés, which makes the decision to support this local small business that much easier!“

“Update Must Read:Now for the Pot Roast Pot Pie, lordy. I can't say enough spectacular things about it for real. The crust is so flaky and delightful to taste. Biggest pot pie with fabulous crust and holes poked in it, too. Nothing in the stores or another restaurant can compare to it. I couldn't finish it. There's so many big chunks of tasty meat, big tasty potatoes , and plump carrots along with peas. Then the gravy or juices are delicious too. For the price, it's well worth every penny, and I can't wait to try the chicken & Southwest chicken as the owner has winners for sure on these pot pies, kudos.Let's move on to the Cherry Custard yummy pie. I've been looking it seems like forever to find a fabulous custard in a pie.Guess what? I found my dream cherry custard pie. The custard is so creamy, and the sweetness is on point big time along with the perfect cherries. Again, the crust is so flaky and tasty kudos to a perfect crust it's so rare that it doesn't fall apart and holds up to where you can pick it up and eat with your fingers. I must admit that I demolished that pie in hours. Thank God it was only 6 inches. Now I've definitely found my favorite pies the white chocolate strawberry, cherry custard, and of course the pot pies. Big shout out to the Owner on a spectacular bakery filled with such delightful and delicious goodies.Next time, gonna have to try the quiche for sure! The drive from St. Louis is so worth it, and believe me, I'll be going a lot more. Did I mention they ship, too?Pie places and bakeries are one of my favorite places to experience, and Peggy Jean's is definitely a hit and a must visit if you like fabulous tasting pies! It's my favorite place to stop and get pies, both sweet and savory. I called that morning to get 3 white chocolate strawberry pies held for me as I missed the cutoff time the day before they suggested calling the next day.I tried their pies when we were in town, treasure hunting, and now I'm hooked on the white chocolate Strawberry 6 inch pie. Luckily, when I went in to pick them up, they had the cherry cherry custard pie. Usually, they are special order. To my surprise, they had 3 of them, so of course, I picked up 2 of the 6 inch ones.Last time, I didn't try their savory pie, so this time, I picked up dinner for grabbing 2 of the pot roast pot pies. You heard me pot roast pot pies 6 inch. The reason I keep stating 6 inch is because they do have 9 inch pies, too. They would go bad before I could eat them, so I enjoy the 6-inch pies. Also, they have quiche as well. I'll let you know how the pot roast pot pie is when I eat it. Did I mention they ship as well. Big shout to the owner for having such fabulous sweet & savory pies for single people.Don't miss out if you're driving thru Columbia, Missouri. Stop in and seriously try the White Chocolate Strawberry pie it's outrageously tasty!“

“The juice is soooo good, even when the juicer breaks! The people working were so kind and helpful. I am from out of town and went in on a whim. I had no idea what I wanted, but the lady pointed out favorites from both their juice and smoothie menu. A few minutes after ordering, one of the ladies working came up and informed me that the juicer had broken mid-juice. She told me she could either add coconut water to fill the cup to the top (it was almost all made, more than half the cup was already full) or she could refund me. I opted for the coconut water and thank goodness I did, because the juice is delicious! I got the purple rain and would highly recommend trying it if you ever stop in! The space inside is also super cute with a ton of eco-friendly products and cute locally made items!“
