“Val's is a staple on the west side. Food is consistent, but average. Nothing that stands out here. Don't go if you want homemade gravy or chicken fried steaks with your breakfast(hardly anyone makes good gravy anymore because they use the cheap mix, but their chick fried steaks aee from a freezer.) But the service is good, atmosphere welcoming, bathrooms need improvement, but overall a pleasant experience and while not my favorite, I'm sure we'll return.“

“All I can say is YUMMM!!! We happened on this little inconspicuous cafe just before lunch. Found out they were putting out a Fried Chicken buffet and held out to give it a try. Best we’ve had since moving to central Missouri almost three years ago. The sides were all amazing, well seasoned, and salad buffet had made fresh deli salads as well as traditional green fixings. The skillet baked cornbread and ham and beans soup was so good you’d think your Grandma had made it. And that carrot cake was the final straw that had my husband rolling me out the door when we were finished. The service was excellent and super friendly. All served at a super reasonable price of $12.99. Can’t recommend enough!“
