Val's is a staple on the west side. Food is consistent, but average. Nothing that stands out here. Don't go if you want homemade gravy or chicken fried steaks with your breakfast(hardly anyone makes good gravy anymore because they use the cheap mix, but their chick fried steaks aee from a freezer.) But the service is good, atmosphere welcoming, bathrooms need improvement, but overall a pleasant experience and while not my favorite, I'm sure we'll return.
Visiting friends at Lake of the Ozark's, we got a late morning start and were divided on whether to do breakfast or lunch. Problem solved at Val's. We did both. Val's is basically what many would call a greasy spoon diner but it is much, much better. From really good service to excellent food, we enjoyed our breakfast/lunch. My wife had biscuits and gravy with eggs. She loved the flavor of the gravy and said the biscuits were perfect. I opted for the tenderloin sandwich. This...read full review

The BEST place for breakfast. Much better than First Watch. Service is extremely efficient and home-town friendly. Eggs just the way you like them, crispy hash browns and nice, crisp bacon. Their coffee is great too!!
