Fire brisket, I like the juiciness of Chef Js brisket better than q39 but it's a hard toss up. I think if it was fresher I would say chef Js was better but it did seem like maybe I got the last of it. But I'd have to come back again. Top 3 bbq so far I've been to in KC though. I think once they get things rolling alittle smoother they'll be a hard place to beat.
Superb barbecue to add to your list of KC bbq spots! Chef J's BBQ is located in the West Bottoms area in an old warehouse. They opened at 12 PM and the line was already well formed. Waited maybe 20 min but does go fast. We couldn't decide what to order so we got the Full Monty which came with brisket, ribs, sausage, pulled pork and we subbed the turkey for the bacon burnt ends. I finally got to check out Chef J this last weekend. I've had it via catering but I wanted to go and order to see for myself what the hype was about. They do tend to sell out early but we got lucky on this visit with the only sold out item being turkey (which I wasn't gonna get anyway). Ordering is a bit confusing.
