Poor experience, nothing on their website about operating with a very small menu, and not even serving in their own restaurant. My ribeye was very tough and terribly over priced. Our waiter was very good but that is the only good part about our experience

We were disappointed. We have been here 3 times previously and had better experiences. The steak house is under renovation and in a temporary location. Execution is off for the kitchen. We waited way to long after our delicious salads and awesome crab cakes were delivered. The steak and fingerling dish were OK, but the wait really took away from the overall experience. Stephen is a great waiter but cannot control the issues in the kitchen.

Service is always amazing and the food quality is top notch. The last trip we were seated infront of the fireplace and i almost passed out from the heat. I should have said something but i really didnt notice till the end of the meal. There remodeling and serving next door temporarily so not quite in the restaurants usual domain. But a great meal none the less

Everything was wonderful, except the noise level. It was difficult to hear my companion across the table even after leaning in. Should get better when they move back to the original location.

Before I write this, I want to say that I have no problem paying up for a GOOD meal. I was really excited to try this restaurant, but I ended up pretty disappointed. The actual restaurant was closed for a new business coming soon, so Great Plains was relocated to Sugo. The atmosphere at Sugo is noisy and a bit obnoxious and the seat that I sat in was very dirty and stained. I had to "sweep" off the remnants of the last customer and our table had something sticky all over it. The steaks that we got were not cooked the way we ordered them and mine was approx. 50% fat and gristle. They were also very salty. We each ate about a third of the steaks. I also find it odd that a $50 steak didn't come with any kind of side. We did get salads (for an extra 12 bucks each)and they were what you would expect from a salad. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. I'm sure if I would have complained about our food, she would have attempted to make it right, but I don't like to complain. The drinks were pricey, but good. Overall, my impression of Great Plains was not good. I won't be back.

Went to dinner here instead of our typical spot at the buffet. Service **** Cocktails ***** Brussel sprouts***** House salad ***** Ribeye ** Garlic butter for steak ** Overall it was alright, most of the food was in fact excellent but the ribeye was way overdone and that made it tough and chewy. Out of respect for the animal, I only send back steak that is underdone since that can be cooked a bit more vs over getting thrown out. This steak tested my rule though and only the garlic butter saved it.

I’ve dined here several times and been very happy with the food and the service. This last Saturday, I happened to be in town and stopped by just to see if I could get a table. (I figured I wouldn’t, but felt it couldn’t hurt to ask.) A smarmy dark-haired woman working the hostess desk greeted me and even though I asked politely what the chances were of us getting a table, she responded with an eye roll and with a condescending tone replied that they were fully booked that night. She then turned away from us dismissively. Uncalled for. Nobody deserves to be treated that way. Shameful.

What a hidden gem and inside of the Ameristar Casino building no less! The menu is small but when the food is this good you don't need a vast selection. Some of the meals do not come with a side, expect a charge for additions to meals. I had the surf and turf, 7oz filet with shrimp and a side of Brussels sprouts. The steak is like butter, literally melting in your mouth, the flavor of the shrimp was just as impressive. The sprouts could have used something maybe a balsamic glaze or some candied bacon but they were good. My husband had the ribs, it comes with a baked potato. He could not stop talking abiut these ribs so I took a bite and he wasn't wrong they were incredible. You're given a small dish for the bones but why bother when you have to fork eat these tender fall off the bone ribs? The baked potato was standard but still delicious. We shared a caesar salad as an appetizer and it was perfect. The bread flows and it is a perfect pairing to the meals. The dessert menu looked superb, we didn't have any room left and did not partake. It is true what they say, you get what you pay for, do not sleep on this place, it is worth every penny!

Prime rib did not have much flavor. The service wasn't that good. I was told they would bring the condiments for my baked potato when I got it. I was half done with my steak before I flagged down my server. I said I'm eating a fry potato.. He got an attitude then.

Food very delicious. Traditional real steakhouse. Excellent decor. Two could eat the ribs and a Caesar and take some home. Sam our waiter is 10 star service. Can’t go wrong here. Excellent. Open Thursday-Sunday. You may want a reservation. Wear your finer attire. A high end establishment and it backs it up. Highly recommend.Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access

This is my girlfriends favorite steakhouse so took her there on her birthday and in the past they have been great but they were definitely lacking this visit. Both of us ordered our KC strips medium- mine came a little over cooked but not bad but hers was very well done so we sent it back. It then came back to the table 2 different time's absolutely raw. After the second time she just told them to disregard her order- now in their defense they did comp both her and my steaks. They also gave her a free dessert since it was her bday but the cake was frozen solid. Overall a very disappointing experience.

Cool spot. The food leaves a lot to be desired for the prices they charge. I’ve been here four times now and each time it’s hit or miss. Never had a meal that really knocked my socks off.

The restaurant is comfortable and relaxed. We sat in the bar area which has a couple of televisions and a view of the casino. It was the first opportunity for a significant period of time for my husband and me to enjoy a night out, a delayed birthday dinner for me as we came to town for VA appointments for my husband's chronic medical needs . We expected a significant cost which we incurred having a $200 dinner which included prime rib, a shrimp cocktail, lobster and a filet, baked potato and augratin potatoes. The potatoes were wonderful! My husband's prime rib was cooked well and as he ordered but it was not a nice quality slice of prime rib, thin. His shrimp cocktail was “ok “ with him commenting the shrimp were small, not chilled and crisp as you would expect. The lobster tail was a nice size but overcooked and chewy but the melted butter helped with that! I think I could soak cardboard in melted butter and be content! The filet was overcooked and poor quality, hard and chewy and seasoned with pepper although I had requested it have none, I indicated to our Server my disappointment in the quality of the filet and despite his initial courtesy and attentiveness, he was dismissive and did not attend to my concern which I chose not to challenge further. The best part of my meal was the baked potato which our Server compared to the size of a football and he was close!! More than enough butter, sour cream and cheese were provided although I had requested no cheese. This was not an issue because you fixed your own potato with the condiments provided.nMy thinking, for that amount of money, you would expect to leave feeling like it was one of the better meals you have had. Also going to a steak place, I had high expectations for the quality of the beef. Overall, it was a enjoyable opportunity to look into my husband's blue eyes across the table and have no dishes to wash when we finished our meal. Just think our next opportunity, we will choose a different table.
