My roommate and I stopped in here for the first time today and it will definitely not be the last. We ordered the Russell burger and Turkey Club and both sandwiches were amazing and the carrot cake is to die for. I loved the atmosphere and the staff were fast and so friendly. Even though they were extremely busy, we really weren't waiting long for our food and they had adequate seating.

Top five favorite places to eat in Kansas City.Every detail from the front counter to the bathrooms was thought out and fits their vibe.Food is cooked on an open fire which is very unique. All breads are baked in house. The staff is beyond nice and the table markers are old license plates. How cute!

The Russell is a cute restaurant with a comfort and welcoming feel. The food was fresh and delicious. The warm olives with grilled bread was a great way to start off our meal. My entree was the tasty green pear salad. The salad had green pears, blue cheese, dried cherries, candied walnuts and a bourbon pear vinaigrette. My friend had the same salad, but added grilled chicken. Their dessert choices are over the top. I highly recommend the fudge brownie with buttercream. I am a chocolate lover and a buttercream fan, so this was the perfect combination.

I’ve been wanting to try this place for awhile and it did not disappoint. I loved the menu, atmosphere and service. I had the Sumac bowl while my friend had the BLT, I was very happy with mine as the tenderloin was very tender and flavorful and everything was proportioned just right. I can’t wait to go back and try other things on their menu.

10/10 all around. The steak chimi sandwich was incredible and so was the 1/2 chicken. I’m looking forward to going back to try the Kona rubbed ribeye. The deserts were also fantastic, the buttercream topped brownie was my favorite.

We usually get takeout from The Russell, but this was our first time dining in. Quite good. Odd decor and seating options, but the food makes up for it. Parking situation is odd, especially with Main Street construction (park in the lot behind the building).

My friends & I really enjoyed The Russell. Everyone was friendly, great choices on the menu and quite the ambience. It was a bit noisy, but most restaurants are it seems. One thing I wanted to mention to the owner is that all of us at the table who had tomatoes on their salad decided that it would be better for you to leave them off or buy Campari tomatoes which are always ripe. The tomatoes you used were like little rocks with no taste. This is more of a suggestion than a complaint. We had a great experience.

We tried this establishment on Saturday after hearing about them on social media. The food was pretty good besides the Brussel sprouts which tasted charred and burnt. The venue is open seating, you choose what u want and order it before you sit down. Water, tea and lemonade are free, but regular beverages like coke for instance, you pay for by the can. Not a bad place to try out. We had the ribeye and lamb chops.
