I was working a private event with Blues Fired Pizza on Saturday and as I was closing the truck door to begin prepping and service, a friendly warm voice from an older gentleman said “Hello!” From the side as he was talking to the event coordinator. After shift I stuck around to wander the area and wanted to check out their truck. I met Steve (that friendly warm voice that had greeted me hours before) and he asked me how I was and how we did. Asked me if I’d like to order anything. I was shocked because I didn’t want to assume I could also order- having not been part of the event. I asked if it was okay and he said “Sure! We have to take care of our own!” With a genuine smile on his face. I heard stories of this industry being a cut-throat business. I was more than willing to pay for my pizza but Steve assured me it was okay. (I did drop a tip in their tip can) 🙂 ***** I had the 8" Chicken Bacon Ranch Pizza. Garlic/Ranch Sauce, Chicken, Bacon, Jalapeño, Cheddar Cheese and Mozzarella Cheese. (Pictured) It was AMAZING! I’m so tired of these big chain pizza places and I’m sooo happy that I went to Blues Fired Pizza’s truck! The dough was fresh, soft, and had that fire oven taste and crisp. You can tell the dough is made from scratch. I’ve driven past them numerous times in Kirkwood at their little pizza shack… but never stopped in. I’ll be glad to come by and order for sure! “Aug 11 about 9:30 am. What a wonderful brunch spot. It’s between two sections of a shopping center and at a hair raising intersection but the breezeway was perfect on a summer day. Friendly staff, interesting menu, and a quick correction to an erroneously executed special request. We all ordered a different dish but all 5 of us were happy with the presentation and flavor. And no side-eye for lingering. Wish I didn’t live 300 miles away-I’d definitely come back!!!”

“The best Thai food I have had in STL. Reasonable prices for the generous portion sizes. The owner and staff are so friendly and nice, the food is prepared fresh and with quality ingredients, and the restaurant is always very clean. I call the restaurant directly to place my order for takeout and pay with cash instead of ordering online and paying with a card - it saves small businesses money and the owner has thanked me for doing this before. Highly recommend the crab rangoon appetizer, too - it’s better than any Chinese restaurant in the county.”

“I tried Britt’s Bakehouse for the first time this weekend and I was pleasantly surprised! I am gluten and dairy free so it is a challenge to find delicious baked goods. I tried multiple items and I could not tell they were gluten free! My favorite treats were the dairy free mini chocolate Bundt cakes, and pumpkin donuts. They were moist and full of flavor! I shared with my husband and he had no idea it was gluten and dairy free! The donuts were like personals cakes! The lemon truffle was also amazing! I can’t wait to go back and try more gluten and dairy free desserts!”

“we were all from out of town, looking for a good bite. and although its a tad pricey, man, did this deliver! the coffee was delicious, the biscuits were huge.. and delicious. the burritos were hearty and filling.. and idk what seasoning stuff they put on the hashbrowns, but wonderful. I felt like a stuffed big leaving that place, but it was every bit of worth it. if I lived in the area, it would definitely be one of my new go-tos for breakfast. my last thing, im not sure who the man is who was running the counter today, but he was cheesy and joyful, right up my alley! he made a "funny" from my husbands name and I ate it up lol I absolutely love stuff like that so it made my experience all the better.”

“I've been to several Kaldi's locations around the area, and this is one of my favorites. Right in downtown Kirkwood near the shops and train. Each Kaldi's has its own unique food, and the avocado toast and breakfast burrito here were both excellent.”

“I grew up in St. Louis and hadn’t been back to visit in over 15 years. Tropical Moose was the first stop on my list to visit again. I have so many fond memories of eating a snow cone on a hot summer day, walking around the Kirkwood Farmer’s market. They were closed for the season when we visited last week (mid-September), but the incredibly kind owners went out of their way to briefly open for us after I messaged them on Instagram inquiring about hours. The snow cones were just as amazing as I remembered and the flavor options are unbeatable. Getting to go back here was one of the highlights of my trip. Don’t pass it up!”

“I grew up going to Duffy's, so it has always been a favorite in my family. Last month, we had my dad's celebration of life there in the banquet room with the most delicious buffet. I highly recommend having their banquet room for any celebration. Our server, Josh, was so awesome, knowledgeable, and quick to attend to our party of 50 or so. We even went back the next day for the St. Patrick's Day celebration where I've spent many St. Patrick's Days at. Everything is fresh and delicious. the staff is so friendly and give great service! ❤️”

“For as busy as this location is, you can tell they care tables are clean. Windows are clean floors, and bathrooms are immaculate. The food qualities is excellent. It’s always bright and cheery when you walk in the door. It’s also nice when one of their employee says “welcome in” and then they walk around to make sure that everything‘s OK. You can tell the folks you really care.”

“I cannot express how pleasant my lunch experience was today, at the Kirkwood Chili’s. I sat at the bar, and Cierra was taking care of me. The service was perfect in every way. Cierra is a very outgoing person who obviously enjoys her work! Kudos to the kitchen staff as well. My food arrived quickly, it was super fresh and tasted great. 10/10 recommend.”

“I haven't been to a White Castle in years, since they aren't where I live now, and had a craving. So while I was passing through I stopped at this location and had a great experience.

They were busy for lunch but the team was friendly and crushing it. Kindly apologizing for the small wait time even while being the only one on the grill. And the food was hot, fresh and excellent! It was exactly what I had hoped. If management sees this, give this team some props!”

“I’ve eaten some sandwiches at a lot of places, but Jersey Mike’s the second to none. It’s also pretty cool when the owner James just happen to be there making your food you could tell he really cares about his business.”

“I came in on a day where it was REALLY busy and a lot was going on. Luckily, I had time to sit and wait for my food. I had ordered ahead and Linda and Kat at the front were was trying to help me find my food. Then, Jacquelyn came over to speak with me and hesitantly told me it could be 15-20 minutes. Told her it was no problem and I had my NYT games to play. She offered me a free drink while I waited, apologized profusely, and checked in whenever they were working on my order. It was a hectic day but the customer service was doing a great job.”

“We were in St Peter’s Mo. and were going to go to Olive Garden for my Wife’s birthday, when I told our clerk at the hotel she said she would recommend the Pasta House over the Olive Garden. We went and had supper. Everything we had was great better than the other place. We took desert back to the room and it was great. I would recommend to anybody.”
